Hey,
played Ludicrous Spiral Incredible Normal speed with slow tech and 42 races (who all attacked me at one point) with 1800x 32 gig of ram, and a 1070 ti card , so I did not expect crashing and weird stuff happening at the end of the war era, I have not had a major event happen in two straight games set to uncommon, I'm going to re-install, I sure hope there are no more crashes. Reloaded saved game several times , perhaps the save was corrupt.

I had some problems with the designer, it removed all of a weapon or parts I did not select, not a problem adding them back ,still want to know whats up. And yes the rock creatures still eat gas , LOL

As for the Races... I just checked all of them, and there are not unused points or traits.

This probably has been adressed, but as long time abstinent from GalCiv, I am curious what happened to the ship style pictured below? No longer available in dropdown.
They evolved. Try looking at GRM PRT style
You can make your own ship styles now. As long as the original ship designes are available you can group them.
OP-which tables modify the ideology tree? I would like to modify the tree, but cannot figure out which table to actually modify to make those changes. Your mod's tree, for example, shows sweeping changes but at this point I don't see what text in the XML files actually effectuated those changes.

I apologize for any inconvenience but I really just want to play and not have trouble..
It crashes when the screen messages me to WAIT. which I do. then CTDT
I do not know if this is an issue with GRM or ?? but perhaps with a little assistance we can figure it out.
I am consistently CTDT, its kinda heartbreaking to get half way thru a game and not be able to continue,
occurs in the war era when making ideology choices. It was no event in particular( because I removed the event it was occurring on) but crashes on an event popping up. I had other events that did not cause problems. So it is mysterious
all files verified and freshly installed , If I knew how I could attach my save game file.perhaps someone could assist?

Put in a ticket with SD and try playing a game without GRM. Without more specific information I'm limited in the help I can give you.

You can define what each culture trait does or is called in CultureTraitsDefs.xml
Then you need to make sure each trait is used via CultureTreeDefs.xml
Other than that... I suggest making a specific topic and I and others can offer input on specific changes you might make and have trouble with.

The biggest problem with GC3 mods IIRC is that mods that change the same files are not really compatible.
Correct. GRM is somewhat compatible with those... Download those and remove global defs from GRM then update the global def file in the other mod to give races 4 ability points.
I've played GRM for a bit at this point. One criticism I have is that the "egalitarian" ideology choices seem decidedly inferior to all other ideologies and the "survivalism" choice is clearly superior to the other two. Is that intentional? It turns the base Intrigue and Crusade models on their head. In the base game the malevolent (survivalism using your name choice) is intended to be the least favorable but the picks that give one the points are usually superior to the other two. That forces the player to make a choice about whether he wants the superior pick in exchange for the inferior culture trait (or ideology choice). Anyway, it seems to me that "egalitarianism" needs a little enhancement to make it more competitive.
No it isn't intentional... I'm all ears for suggestions on balancing them out.
Hello, Gauntlet, thank you very much for your mod. I have 3.0 and Crusade but not Intrigue. I have download 8.1b but it doesn't seem to be working (I've included part of the debug file below).
Any idea what I am doing wrong? I take it that I need to buy Intrigue to make 8.5 version work. I'm kind of tired of buying DLC's and was happy playing GRM before 3.0 came out.

Hey there.
A) Uninstall GRM. Really. All of it. Properly. Designs and all.
Install GRM 8.5
C) Follow the instructions in GRM 8.5 on using 8.5 without Intrigue.
D) If you still have an issue report back!
OR you can try this "hot fix" that may or may not work... but its less effort.
1) Go into your GC3 directory and find GlobalDefs.xml in the Crusade DLC folder.
2) Copy and replace it into the GRM Mod Folder
3) Open the GlobalDefs.xml search the file for "ability" and you will find a line for racial abilities... its set to 2... set it to 4.

Thanks, Gauntlet. I searched my PC for the GlobalDefs file and didn't find it. Then I searched using Global*.* and found some Civ5 files but nothing for GalCiv3. I validated the GC3 files and still didn't find it. So this morning I uninstalled GC3, deleted any remaining GC3 folders, and am reinstalling it. I'll load version 8.5 tonight and follow the directions to make it work without Intrigue.
I'm using Windows 8.1 so maybe that's my problem. GC3 was working, just without all of your mods features and designs.

Hey Gauntlet i'm really enjoying the mod so far, currently doing a playthrough with Orion and and all the designs look great. I did notice a bug where a couple of the events have 2 options selected by default though i'm not sure if they actually have any effect.
Been that way for a bit, think the top one is chosen by default, I just click on one of the bottom 2 before making a choice to make it look right.

Playing ludicrous
Well, I have played to the ascension era and , no events , no major ones for sure. The anomalies were very scarce. I had settings for common or abundant and only found less than 10 anomalies total the entire game with 4 or five surveyors. I would like one major event just to keep things interesting.
Third game now NO major and relatively few minor events. first game I have had near zero anomalies.
Any theories ??
side note : One of the terran races is sharing a flag with another race. Ill check for specifics. This causes no owner to show in mercs after a merc has been bought by either of these races. How do I add an ability to a merc ? One has no merc ability just a place holder.
