Replaces the Anomalies and greatly increases their diversity and coolness!Replaces all Mercenaries from the BazaarReplaces the Mines and Bazaar modelsReplaces the Pirate models and grants them a few starting ships!Adds additional Abilities!Adds additional Starting Ship Combos! KNOWN ISSUES and USE1) If you use this mod for your own ships/races/etc. a brief credit to this mod is appreciated. 2) Turn ship-trails off, I use engines as parts in turrets and hulls, it can be distracting.3) If you experience performance issues, it is most likely the result of the heavy use of animations in any/all of my ship models, or otherwise GC3's general issues. If you experience issues, I recommend either playing with less total races, less races utilizing the ship sets, or otherwise upgrading your PC. 4) Under no circumstances may you upload any of these ship designs or factions to Steam.THANK YOUPlease reach out and report any glitches/bugs, any ships with clipping or other issues. Also it would be great, if you end up adding to the designs using the custom components, for you to share them with the community! Please credit the mod if you do!Special thanks to: Horemvore for his helpful attitude and Diplomacy UI mod!R3bel02 for one of his logos. JP193 for submitting a design via the contest. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more!

SHOWCASE VIDEOS
Thanks for the update Gauntlet. Hopefully they will get it resolved quickly.
What I would like to see in a mod is customized tech trees. Also I noticed that some trees got under to not being noticed not just the Snathi Dlc.
"Also I noticed that some trees got under to not being noticed not just the Snathi Dlc."
What does this mean? I am likely biased to certain tech trees, so some do get used more than others in the race list.
Well i guess I'm saying wouldn't it be better when trading techs to have everone with an equal dispersion of techs. That way when tech trading come around the guy with only one tech tree don't bank being the only guy that has the tech.
My second point is it would be better if everyone had specialised tech trees.
I assign tech trees on what I feel best represents the race in question. It is very easy for you to edit them to the distribution of tech trees you may prefer.
I do hope to someday make custom techtrees for the "big 6", Zrenrakka, Terrans, Fulgar, Ukaros, Tothk, and Aquilarans.
GRM 4.0 is now available!

So what does this version of GRM do?
1) Compatible with GC3 1.7
2) Shipsets, appearances, logos, factions, backgrounds, and more than ever!
3) Advanced racial abilities (optional)
4) Replaces all minor races with more powerful ones.
5) Replaces pirates, the Bazaar, and Strategic Resource mines.
6) Replaces all T1 and T2 Mercs and improves on them somewhat.
7) The big 6 of major races now have custom home systems.
Enjoy! Please report any bugs immediately. Also just in case your wondering my new temporary Nexus ID is GauntletGRM.
Known Issues:
Original Major Races have no abilities if you utilize GRM-A. Copy them and apply abilities, or, remove GRM-A. If you must have both, you can rename abilitiesdefs.xml inside the GRM-A folder to anything else. This may cause some menu clipping.
Default ship designs will only animate a kinetic attack. This is a limitation on Stardock's end with modding custom shipsets. The ships still function perfectly fine.
Ship trails look a little funky with some ships, I recommend turning them off.
Best thing since sliced bread.
Thanks for all the hard work, we sure appreciate it
Since 1.7 is beta will 1.61 still work.
No idea. I'd kinda be surprised if it didn't work though, depends on whether the new line of code for constructors is a brand new definition or some such.
I'll try it when i get home tonight.
I am thankful it worked out, sort of. Hopefully they will notice what's going on and do something, as it shouldn't be a problem in the first place.
I wanted to say that I did encounter one bug, namely when using the optional file to keep the original minor races. For whatever reason an error log appears saying the script lines are already somewhere else. This happens both if I combine both the files containing minor races for GRM (the optional and default) and have them separate. It's pretty odd.
Another thing (not a bug?) was that the game complained on two of my races using GRM shipsets not using shipsets that existed. Nowadays whenever there is a GRM update in the works I make copies of my races with default shipsets to avoid this issue (all 200). But the odd thing about this was that these two did in no way stand out from any others. They used shipsets used by many others, and they both had two different ones (terran sovereignity and quantum cyberiat respectively). All my other races are fine. They are fixed now, but still, that was pretty weird.
Thanks for all the hard work! I am looking forward to the future of the biggest and baddest of Galciv 3 mods!
Regarding the minor races. Are you using any other mods? If not, weird, I'll try to recreate.
Thanks!
PS and updated version of GSM is now up too.
Yeah, I use no other mod at the moment due to the major update. However, I believe I found the issue. The original minor races are still in the game, as the Burrans became my neighbors in the very first game I started up. This does explains why the lines appeared to be duplicates.
Gauntlet, I installed both GSM and GRM this morning.
All works with one exception. All the races except yours have had special abilities removed. Not much of a problem BUT, the majors such as Snathi, Drengin, Terran..all of Stardocks majors have had their abilities remove and I am unable to add them back ( I can with all other non stardock races).
Sorry I am in a rush for work....
Cool. thanks for reporting. I didn't modify the core races to be compatible with grm. Not really planning to, but I should mention it somewhere I guess.
Anyone have opinions on what grm abilities would go to each race?
Did you change the core abilities?
Its not really a big issue. How would I get the primary races to get abilities or have them back? I really like the way you redid the abilities btw.
I would go back and take a look at what the majors had and give them the same all over and if it makes them a bit op so much the better.
Issue: Pirate Survey Ships are stealing my anomalies!
Background: I enjoy roaming around looking for and exploring anomalies. It's something fun to do in the early stages of the game while planets are being built up.
Question: I am very comfortable modifying code. Where in your codebase would I need to go to delete pirate survey ships from existence?
I have not got into a game yet, as I want the majors to have their special abilities. I am pleased to hear about Pirates stealin stuff. Very cool!
Great stuff here. After messing around with the game for about four hours I've got some impressions/notes. Firstly, yeah the pirates and minors do colonize and built starbases if they manage to grab an anomaly with constructors or colony ships. Cool. I had great fun chasing down pirate survey ships. I did have an issue where clicking on a pirate starbase caused a crash to desktop. I double checked to be sure. Also the mod doesn't appear to be rendering missile or beam fire at all. Combat stats are unaffected, just the effect is gone. For reference I'm running a Surface Book w/ the i7 processor 8 gigs of RAM and the NVIDA chipset.
Blacktiger, it maybe your video on your end. I have not had any issues with graphix but will test it this weekend.
Hey there!
1) Known issue, AI designs using custom ship designs do not animate fire effects other than a single kinetic blast. So yes, if you use the default designs (which, no offense, is pretty sub-optimal play) you will not see good effects. That is a Stardock issue that I can't change.
2) To remove Pirate Survey ships, open factiondefs.xml in GRM-PRT and remove the line for a starting survey ship.
3) Sorry BlackTigerActual, but the issue is either unrelated, or otherwise a issue with not installing the mod/something properly I've tested that aspect of the mod on five computers without fail.
4) Want to use a original core race? Copy it and apply abilities as you see fit! Did I mention GRM doesn't much care for core races? (sorry!)
5) Don't want any of the super cool superior GRM abilities? Simply remove the mod folder called GRM-A and then use the faction files from the optional folder instead of the provided ones.
Are you saying that i could delete core species without any problems.
You do realise I'm planning to play with 100 races that's why i need core to be up and running.
No. I'm not saying you delete the core races. Copy them, add abilities as you see fit, then don't load in the core races. Or, as explained in the install video, you don't have to use the advanced ability mod at all, and I provided copies of my factions that use core abilities.
OR if you really MUST have GRM-A abilities and the original core abilities, you can just rename the abilitiesdefs.xml file in GRM-A mod folder. I suspect this might cause visual interface issues for selecting abilities. Do so at your own risk.
Its also, not my responsibility in ANY way to realize how you do or do not play the game. I provide content, choose to use it, or not. No one put a gun to your head. If you weren't using GRM-A before, its incredibly easy to decide not to use it if you so choose and I was nice enough to provide you copies of my factions that don't utilize it.
