KNOWN ISSUES and USE1) If you use this mod for your own ships/races/etc. a brief credit to this mod is appreciated. 2) Turn ship-trails off, I use engines as parts in turrets and hulls, it can be distracting.3) If you experience performance issues, it is most likely the result of the heavy use of animations in any/all of my ship models, or otherwise GC3's general issues. If you experience issues, I recommend either playing with less total races, less races utilizing the ship sets, or otherwise upgrading your PC. 4) Under no circumstances may you upload any of these ship designs or factions to Steam.THANK YOUPlease reach out and report any glitches/bugs, any ships with clipping or other issues. Also it would be great, if you end up adding to the designs using the custom components, for you to share them with the community! Please credit the mod if you do!Special thanks to: Horemvore for his helpful attitude and Diplomacy UI mod!R3bel02 for one of his logos. Ditto, Still think SD should buy this from you
Hi Gaunlet I am having an issues with your mod it keeps saying the Race's are invalid due to unknown appearance and unknown ship style. Any Idea's what could be the issue?
Ok I am an Idiot. I forgot to put the mod folder into the mod section. sorry to bother you.
No worries!
"Ditto, Still think SD should buy this from you"
I appreciate that!

Thanks for the shoutout!
And I'm sure it won't even matter, but it's pronounced GOD-oh (like Waiting for Godot). The name itself is my homage to the wonderful comic by Phil Foglio (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buck_Godot).
Thanks again for the mention! Looking forward to see what you come up with.
(Loving your Race Mod, by the way - only stuck my toes in it but I am hella hella impressed. And, yes, SD should hire you )
Hey thanks for the pronunciation! I actually have read and love Buck Godot and Girl Genius, just never new how to pronounce.
And frozen ice IS our claim to fame in the galaxy man!
Hey guys!
I've launched a new add-on pack specifically for Mercenaries. I consider it in Beta, but its meaty enough now that you might want to try it out!
http://www.nexusmods.com/galacticcivilizations3/mods/18/?
The GRM-Mercenaries Pack:
20 Mercenaries added
Some use current designs from GRM
Some use modified designs from GRM
Some use totally new designs
Currently, the new mercs are doubly likely to show up compared to default mercs, and for the most part, they simply copy the abilities of existing mercs. Some, I have tweaked and generally added engines or components to play around. I make no pretense that anything is balanced or some such.
Suggestions are very welcome, as is reporting any typos.
I am experiencing a crash since installing the merc add-on. The game keeps crashing on turn two.
Where did you install the designs? If you put them anywhere except for the game's directory designs folder it will cause crashing.
Hi gauntlet
Sorry for asking this here but as you have added new "core" ships i was wondering if you would mind looking post:

I hanhaving a strange issue with One ship i added to core and wanted to see if you had any ideas
Commented on your thread!
In other news.
1) All GRM mods are up to date and released. PHEW
2) Work will continue on producing more Mercs. So many more Mercs... so damned. Many.
3) Working on a redux of the RN shipset (B5 Narn). I won't be removing this shipset, but a new version will come out for use with the Regime of Tothk. The new shipset will use several of the hull elements of the RN set, but be unique, have turrets and weapon mounts that are more in line with GRM ship design philosophy. While I have "gimicky" races like the crystals, the races I'm serious about get turrets The new set will also utilize some of the new MERCS parts.
4) I've also figured out how to replace the models for the strategic resource mines (its too bad this isn't race specific). I've already produced a awesome new mining model complete with rotating mining lasers lol. This will require MERCS as well.
In general if your a fan of GRM stuff and hope to continue utilizing my content in the future, go get Mercs! I plan to avoid making a lot of stuff that rely on the smaller DLC but the expansions will become essential to keep GRM up to date. For example, I've designed a new Terran Sovereignty freighter that uses a few MERCS parts.
Thanks Gauntlet. I am looking forward to the new stuff you are coming out with. awesome work.
Gauntlet03,
I am running Galactic Civilizations III ( bought through GOG , not Steam ) with your Mod with all the optional files and the DLC's. However on launching the Game I receive the following warning message :-
Invalid faction detected . The Faction DELNORIAN RENEGADES has failed to validate for the following reasons and will not be availsble. Unknown Ship Style.
I have the DLC's loaded but cannot work out why I have received the above message. Can you advise what needs to be done.
Thanks
DavidR
Well, first things first, can you select "DR" ship style when making a custom race?
If no, sounds like you installed it incorrectly, or, that the DLC in question is missing or otherwise possibly a corrupt file.
If yes, then the problem is the race file itself. Which is odd, since my copy works fine. But you could try redownloading the package, or, if you email me at Gauntlet@gmail.com I can send you a new copy of the file directly.
Thanks, sorry your having some issue there.
Gaunllet03,
Thanks for your reply - it was me , I found 2 files that I had not copied into the correct folder and now I do not have the warning.
I have the same issues. I also made sure that the folders are in their correct spots??? Any ideas?
So if the Tothk are getting a new ship style, does this mean the Ronar will return but with a new graphic? I found their backstory interesting.
Hi Gauntlet, loving all the new mercenaries and new races and combined traits! Just a quick question from a modding point of view though, apologies if this has been asked and answered before, but how come you're using the ingame faction editor in game to create the new major factions and not using XML? I like playing as the Terran Sovereignty but I hated the fact that the planets and all Terra I, I I, III etc as when using the ingame faction editor you can only select home system templates. In the end it bugged me so much I recreated the faction in XML just so I could have the proper names. Just wondered if there was a reason behind this? I still love this mod and it's collection of addons though, I've removed all the stock races and edited a lot of the events so that mentions of them have gone as so to create the illusion that this is the actual game. Keep up the excellent work, and looking forward to seeing more content and back stories!
Hey there!
Why am I not using XML to mod the planets?
A) Not worth the time/effort
Partly because anytime you saved over the race, with new traits etc. I believe your XML work gets rewritten with a standard planet setting.
C) Its easy enough to rename planets in game.
But hey, just FYI, the Terran Sovereignty uses greek names for all the solar system planets. So Mars is called Aries, and Earth is Terra, Jupiter is Zeus, Saturn is Cronus, and so forth.
Out of curiosity, is this mirrored somewhere other than Nexus - maybe at one of the mod sites that doesn't charge to download over 2MB files?
What are you talking about? nexus doesn't charge for downloads!
When I hit the download button, Nexus tells me I have to register to download files over 2MB - on the registration page, there is no free registration option. Are you not seeing the same options presented?
There are many great features available to you once you register, including:
