KNOWN ISSUES and USE1) If you use this mod for your own ships/races/etc. a brief credit to this mod is appreciated. 2) Turn ship-trails off, I use engines as parts in turrets and hulls, it can be distracting.3) If you experience performance issues, it is most likely the result of the heavy use of animations in any/all of my ship models, or otherwise GC3's general issues. If you experience issues, I recommend either playing with less total races, less races utilizing the ship sets, or otherwise upgrading your PC. 4) Under no circumstances may you upload any of these ship designs or factions to Steam.THANK YOUPlease reach out and report any glitches/bugs, any ships with clipping or other issues. Also it would be great, if you end up adding to the designs using the custom components, for you to share them with the community! Please credit the mod if you do!Special thanks to: Horemvore for his helpful attitude and Diplomacy UI mod!R3bel02 for one of his logos. This is great, good to hear you are still working on the wiki I'm really enjoying reading about the back stories behind your races. As I said before I've removed all the stock races from my game now and only play with the ones from GRM, with the exception of the pirates. Just out of curiosity, if you were going to replace the pirates which race's shipset would you believe suits the pirates better?
Ah I understand the amount of time that can be sunk into playing Fallout 4! I've completed the Institute story-line now and am tempted to replay by joining another faction instead. I have Battlefront as well but have not played it much due to other time contraints. I'm currently playing a gigantic sized map GC3 game as the Terran Sovereignty and now control roughly a quarter of the map... I don't see any end in sight though as my main rivals are the Quantum Cyberiat, who control a large chunk of the map, and the Minzari who are supposed to be peaceful but just decided to declare war on me. Looks like I'll be eating them next for breakfast!
It might be wise anyway to not rush them, and enjoy fallout 4, to see what the expansion to galciv does this coming month. Could well be you at the least get a few new picks for races or personality types, tech etc, or at the most custom races need to add something to their tech tree to be compatible.
I think the next patch release is not until next month, but hopefully something will be officially announced soon. Although it will more likely be Soon™ rather than soon...
https://sites.google.com/site/gauntletsshipyard/aquilaran-hegemony/regime-of-tothk?pli=1
Regime of Tothk completed for the Wiki. Also the Snathi set is almost done, just have to produce the Small ship templates. The Huges were fun, quite happy with their set so far.
Preliminary designs for the Aquilarans have also begun, but I am still trying to find my footing there. I might wait for the first expansion as you guys suggest, because I am finding myself continually using the same parts (some are just Too Damned Good not to use!).
Also, really hope we get the ability to rename custom parts one day, I am so sad that I did not name my custom parts with 0- in front, for easy sorting in the folder structure. Sigh.
Or you know, a separate folder for them in the documents/designs folder would also work fine.
Hey guys! GRM is proud to release a new Add-On package!
The Delnorian Renegades, a new race and a unique shipset based on the Revenge of the Snathi DLC is now available here:

REQUIRES REVENGE OF THE SNATHI DLC
hi again Gauntled03: ( i wish to request a review on/of my new ships) Due to the fact i like to improve my designs in the future
(basicly so i dont make to many mistakes and learn to improve them futher but be able to draw a line, of where i stand.)
(Ship set Eluminum Oligearcy page 3 in the collection) plz tell me what you think about them, compare to the old ones.
From a fellow ship designer. (also do look at the ship ingame, like the last time otherwise you get the full picture of it.
(also a strange question, if you had to pick one of your ship set designs, whice one woulde you want to remake (if you had to pick one of them.) (just curious. about it )
If you have time, that is.
Ask and you shall receive friend.
Excellent work!
Also, I don't really have a set I would re-do, so much as I wouldn't have done them in the first place and would do different sets that are more important to me. The Veygar do come to mind though, because my methods were not as clear back then, and I made some major component mistakes, some of those ships can't be redesigned really.
Also I just am not proud of the Minzari, except for their large battleship the Sharlin Warcruiser. Ultimately, the Minbari just don't have good high-res, high detail/poly source material and that really made it difficult.
Thx Gauntled, for the review
i now know how to change my design and tune them into somthing of great (thx for the insight) Next up will be a new huge for my fleet (i have the thoughts about how it will turn out and of course how to still make it a proper part of the fleet.
look foward to it (its gonna be a project for me at least with many try and retry,s. )
also do you have a thought about making your own custom faction (not for the mod, but somthing a bit more personal ship set. (with ton of experimenting and refining. ?)
Glad you liked the review!
I'm not certain what you mean about this.
"also do you have a thought about making your own custom faction (not for the mod, but somthing a bit more personal ship set. (with ton of experimenting and refining. ?)"
I don't really have a personal shipset, but, my personal favorites that I made are the Ukaros, Terran Sovereignty, and Clan Tiamat (Zrenrakka)
Hello Gauntlet, I have enjoyed your MOD for a few weeks now, yet recently it has stopped generating maps when I've started a new game, regardless of the sizing or even if using generic races with minors off. Even previous saves no longer load, yet by following the removal of the 0-GRM factiondef.xml I've been able to load previous saves. Once I've disabled mods the game launches an generates maps without delay (other than normal/avg load times). In case of specs, OS win7 64 ultimate, CPU i7 860 with 16G RAM, Nvidia GTX 680. I'd hate to have to disable mods until the new release for any update fixes, maybe you have a workaround solution. I've already deleted the GC3 game directory an re-DL'd fresh install, I've re-DL'd the GR Mod, but I've not added it in yet, in case you have other input in regards to this. Note- I started to notice crash/CTD freezing whenever I would load up the ship designer in game, now it's during map generation on fresh games. (with mods enabled) I only have you're mod in my mod directory.
Hi there! Sorry for the lateness of my reply. I've been out of the country (USA) on a business trip for the past week or so.
Regarding this issue, it could be multifaceted. For one, I've heard of a shipyard/designer bug that causes crashing in the latest version. With the maps though, I have not heard of that, and I'm not having any such issue myself.
I recommend submitting a support ticket with StarDock. Failing that, I would go as far as a complete uninstall of GC3, and then reinstall, test the game, and then add in GRM and test from there.
Sorry, I wish I had a better answer for you.
Hey guys!
Quick note, there will be a new ship set coming soon, and I'll be updating the main GRM package after the next version. This will likely be the last non-expansion required version of GRM.
Once Mercenaries is out, I'll be working rapidly to update GRM to be compatible, and adjusting the races to utilize the new traits and assets. Going to be fun!
Gauntlet, with the upcoming expansion should I remove the current GRM and wait for a newer version with all the new stuff and updated?
Well, I can't say whether GRM will be compatible or not. We just don't have enough info. It doesn't SEEM like they are messing with existing ship designs or such, so it should actually be fine, but who knows.
PSSTTTT
Any of you people with the 1.6 VIP update or Mercenaries Beta see if GRM is compatible or not ?
Have started 2 games and the mer and no problems so far.
Sweet! Thanks, looking forward to an easy update then.
I'm having an issue when you start the game the text is in top left corner rather than the "story" box.
Minor thing but thought I should report it
Thanks! I'll look into it. I thought I had fixed that, but, seemingly not. It tends to be race specific so if you know which one, let me know.
Just got 1.6 installed and it crashes to desktop whenever I start a new game with GRM. No problems when running without the mod.
I haven't had much chance to try to figure out the issue. I've tried starting a new game with a custom race using one of your shipsets (Republic of ... aka the Narn). Tried a new game with the mod running, using the base (GC3) races, and no minor races. This still resulted in a crash to desktop during the startup.
I'm running 1.5 and all the factions failed validation. What should I do?
EDIT: Forgot to enable mods now their working.
Managed to nail the issue down, it's not the GRM mod itself, but the game. An yes I do believe the bug is the ship designer one. I've managed to get GRM to run again, but it seems related to how the game sucks up system resources, or at least a GB/mem issue. I have 16, but it's swallowing up resources, over time, once it starts closing on 14-15 usage the game tends to have issues, fails to cycle a turn, stops communicating. Typically only on maps Huge or greater turn 300+ during the later stages of gameplay, loading up the ship designer either locks up, crashes the game, it required a fresh GRM install and or validation file repair, since it appeared to have corrupted game files. Which has been resolved (not addressed tho) as well as other system checks (malware, defrags, regcleaning etcetera.) I have no issues with other games. Just figured I'd mention something, so it's not a nagging issue. Again great mod, thnx.
So perhaps you can avoid some of this issue by using less races? Or, less GRM shipset races at least.
But that is lame.
Perhaps, but where's the fun in using less races though. More makes it an interesting game.
Alrighty, so I believe tomorrow is release for Mercs and 1.6 of standard edition.
The plan:
1) With 1.6, the recent ship designer crash bug should be fixed, I'll quickly finish some work I had started for the Fulgar Tradeholds to have their own custom starbases.
2) Update GRM to 2.2, which will add Starbases to Fulgar, introduce the Aquilarans, and otherwise ensure compatibility.
3) Build and launch GRM-Mercs 1.0, compatibility for Mercs specifically. Will include content from Point 2.
I'll hopefully crank this all out before Saturday, since I think it will be easy to make things compatible. Then over the weekend, I'll start work on:
1) Starbases for the Ukaros.
2) New shipset using the new parts, most likely, for a race called "the Screelings" these will be introduced as a Mega Event, not a race, but the shipset will be available as always. The Screelings are part of the GRM Lore and effectively, a traveling race that isn't really interesting in colonizing so much as enslaving. In-Game, if I can make it work, the event will spawn several fleets of singular Huge carrier ships, that park around planets and then attack nearby ships/structures. They won't invade planets, but impose a huge morale/production planet. Representing the Screelings terrifying and demanding tribute from the local populace. Over time, each Huge ship will eventually gain escorts and such and become a larger and larger fleet.
If anyone out there is familiar with modding mega events and was willing to help me, I would love that.
3) Custom mercenaries based on GRM designs and lore. For example, part of the lore, is that when the Terran Republic fell, several fleets of their went rogue and conducted terrorist attacks on Aquilaran civilian colonies (reprisals for their use of bio weapons during the war). These rogue fleets were eventually shattered and scattered and many individual ships have since either become mercenaries, or, have been bought/captured and repurposed.
So expect some designs from the Orion Star Republic (their designs are continuations of the Terran Republic's) making an appearance, as well as Fulgar, Raiders, and Delnorians who are all quite liberal about sharing technology and selling ships to third parties.
I'll of course make some unique ships over time.
TLDR: Making new stuff soon. Looking for help with custom Logos and mega event modding!
