Replaces the Anomalies and greatly increases their diversity and coolness!Replaces all Mercenaries from the BazaarReplaces the Mines and Bazaar modelsReplaces the Pirate models and grants them a few starting ships!Adds additional Abilities!Adds additional Starting Ship Combos! KNOWN ISSUES and USE1) If you use this mod for your own ships/races/etc. a brief credit to this mod is appreciated. 2) Turn ship-trails off, I use engines as parts in turrets and hulls, it can be distracting.3) If you experience performance issues, it is most likely the result of the heavy use of animations in any/all of my ship models, or otherwise GC3's general issues. If you experience issues, I recommend either playing with less total races, less races utilizing the ship sets, or otherwise upgrading your PC. 4) Under no circumstances may you upload any of these ship designs or factions to Steam.THANK YOUPlease reach out and report any glitches/bugs, any ships with clipping or other issues. Also it would be great, if you end up adding to the designs using the custom components, for you to share them with the community! Please credit the mod if you do!Special thanks to: Horemvore for his helpful attitude and Diplomacy UI mod!R3bel02 for one of his logos. JP193 for submitting a design via the contest. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more!

I noticed whenever I started a game (2.0 of the mod) with the Menzari Communes the game will crash to desktop right after starting a new game. Looking in the game directory for the startup I noticed both the "MN" and "LE" ships are have "Beam" in their file name where all the others have "Survey". Is this correct or the cause of the crash?
Thanks,
No, sorry that isn't the cause. Those names determine what ship is previewed when selecting the ship style. I never designed specific survey ships for those sets and instead used the beam ships.
It is possible something else is wrong with the races. Have you tried making a new game with them present but as AI players or without them entirely?
I haven't selected them as a player race, only as AI players. No problems when they are not selected.
I'll try redownloading the mod, and see if that fixes it.
Hey there.
I've noticed myself getting crashes, upon map generation, but it seems random whether the game will crash or not. The crash rate increases with map sizing. I've tested various races to no avail.
However, it occurred to me, that maybe the problem is a minor race. Removing the minor race file has seemingly ended the crashing... so I suspect there is an error with a particular minor. So you may want to take that file out 0-GRM FactionDefs in the GRM mod file and try that. I'm still testing. Thanks.
I'll give that a try, thanks. So far I re-downloaded the mod and started several games without issue (a couple of small size maps and a couple huge). If I have more crashes I'll give the FactionDefs a go.
Thanks again.
The Factions Def was absolutely a problem. One of the minor race's was causing the crash. I have uploaded a new version of GRM that fixes this, V2.1
However, for those who have downloaded, to help you avoid lengthy download times, you can download the single replacement file in the GRM 2.0 Crash Patch. This file needs to go in your Mods/GRM/Game directory and replace the existing file, of 0-GRM FactionDefs.xml

My apologies to anyone who was adversely affected.
Thanks!!
Gauntlet this mod is awesome! I love that each of the factions ships have such a unique style. I'm going to feature this mod on a stream I'm doing on Monday if that is okay with you.
I have been having problems finding the old version of the Quantum Cyberiat and remove it as the file itself isn't named so. What was it named? It's a bit irritating to see the popup whenever I start the game saying I can't use the faction.
Hey there! Sorry for my silence/absence as of late... Fallout is my one true love, and she has me locked up right now.
@Derek, please by all means if you haven't already! Anything I can do for you is a GO. If you ever need to reach me in a time sensitive matter, email is best via Gauntlet@gmail.com
Thanks!
@TheHordesman
Uhm... sounds like you didn't do a fresh install of the mod last round. Do you know where the custom race files live? Just delete both Quantum Cyberiat labeled races, then open the install package of the latest version and add that file back in. Should work fine from there.
Well, that is the problem. I can't. I made a fresh install but the file is named something else so I couldn't find it. I cannot remove it in the game as it is unavailable.
Do you know what the previous version of GRM you installed? You can download any of the old versions and find the file name. There are not that many custom race files... 14-16... You should be able to remove it using process of elimination.
If you'd like screen-sharing technical assistance, email me with select times that may work for you on November 29th, 30th, or 31st. I'm on EST times and am on vacation at home and can help. I'm happy to utilize Join.Me to resolve your issue.
Otherwise:
Go to the my documents folder where your custom factions live, something like this: C:\Users\Gauntlet\Documents\My Games\GalCiv3\Factions
Remove all files (NOT FOLDERS), and put them in another folder. Load game and ensure there are no "missing faction" "can't load faction" type messages. Close game, add one of the race files back, reopen game, ensure no messages. Rinse and repeat until all but the offending file remain.
I found it after downloading an old version. Apparently, it was named "Yor Singularity" and since I had made custom factions with them as a base before I thought it was one of them. If you save a faction without changing the name, the default name will remain in the file name. That is what happened here.
I had been thinking of moving factions and adding them slowly until I found it, but I really never would have the time since I have made literally hundreds of factions.
FYI, I'm running version 1.5 of GC3 with GRM and having no issues. Please post if you have any issues.
Would you have any tips for creating Logo's for a race? I have references for the Logo's i'm trying to create, however my inexperience with digital art is causing me a bit of trouble
Sorry, but no, not really. I just take defaults and recolor, and rotate.
I'm very interested in partnering with someone who can do this well. I'd even pay a retainer in free cocktails if they happen to be in Massachusetts....
Hi G
Dirty did some nice logo work
https://forums.galciv3.com/474055/page/1/#3609091
Not sure its is what your looking for.
BTW; did you see the stream where Paul was amassed at your great work?
I hadn't thought of doing that with the originals so I'll have to keep that in mind as an option when it's possible and yea I'd buy an artist drinks any for making the images I need
As always thanks for the reply, I appreciate it
On a side note, the work Dirtyface83 did is fantastic, thanks for linking it a0152570
Gauntlet, Is it possible to get all the races and stuff in one download or do I have to DL each custom race?
Also is the DL link at the top on first page the correct one and updated to your latest version?
I am willing to wipe my entire game off the Hard drive and do a fresh reinstall at this point. I keep getting multiple factions at the start of the game saying they are missing parts or links. I can show a screen shot but i figure just a clean install of GCIII and your mod is really all I need.
This is by the far the best mod for Galactic Civilizations III so far. I have even made a small mod to remove all the stock factions, and the Snathi, from the game and just leave the pirate faction, so that all the factions in my game only come from this mod!
Would be great if you could start expanding this new universe out a bit, and start replacing the stock events in the game with ones that reflect the factions in this mod. I've started to play around with doing this myself, following the backstories you've created on the wiki. However my creativity is nowhere near as complex and grand as yours and I'm sure you could provide a more richer version!
Unnecessary. Just go through your factions folder and look at the dates of the files. Remove all the old ones from this mod, save the new ones. If you see one called Yor Singularity, delete that one too.
The link is still good, but here it is for reference:
Gauntlet's Race Mod
The mod is only two downloads, the core file, and then one additional race which requires the Megaevent DLC.
ALSO yes I saw Paul's stream, it was awesome to be featured, and @Pleb87 you are officially my favorite fan for having read the wiki
I plan on doing a new Youtube Video for Fallout 4 settlement building tomorrow and then starting to get back into the GC3 swing of things. Basically, come 2016, GRM will be getting back into production mode.
Thanks for your support guys, its awesome to be appreciated.
Way cool. will you post a link to it
Deleted the old files myself before. Either I deleted something big before and forgot, but I swear all the models added up to like a dozen GB or something silly. Anyway, still gone and ready for replacing whenever.
I actually forgot you made a wiki for custom races. I had a long falling out with GC3 because I felt like the devs were getting grabby, and fan content fell under that effect so I didn't see your wiki since there was an unfinished summary of all your races. (Also why I went so long totally silent on these forums)
I might have a Kirani obsession but that's just fine; They're look like Slug Lightyear and their ships resemble hammerhead sharks on steroids and turrets. I can't help but like them.
I should also get back to my own mod works. I can get a few shipsets done in a day, the hard and slow part is modding the race to give them a custom system and tech tree. Might have to redo all that with so many game changes...
Also, Fo4... Unlike my alarmingly slow friends, I quickly found myself unable to locate any more quests in the game, so I've spent like 2 real life days of game time building now. I saw you playing it, and if you're making a video that should give me tons of ideas of what to make next
Hey there! So here is the brief F4 vid. This is my most developed town, Starlight Drive-In. Its really a good showcase of whats possible with enough of the content mods.
I also really like the Kirani! I want to do another pass on the wiki and start detailing more things soon too, but we will see.
