Ok so i was talking a mate through the process on skype as he made his mole race, and i got to thinking a video would be best, im no stranger to making how to videos ...so i made one I recommend watching it at 720p or the 1080p it was recorded in so you can read the writing fully...also if you can take the time to click like it will make my day and help my channel hope it helps!also the image editor i mentioned is in the description but for those that dont want to visit youtube for that : http://www.gimp.org/ or if you dont trust links, then google "gimp image editor" (it stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program, and is totally free software)
what resolution dose the custom art have to be?
Also .. what should the aspect ratio be? So it doesn't stretch the image or anything?
The resolution seems unimportant, when i did the images for my friends factions i used thier facebook profile pictures, now my mate chris had a very small image, though the end result came out very well (it was him at the sealed knot, a re-enactment group so it gave him that steam punk pirate appearence) on the other end was my mate wayne whose image was massive (very expensive digitial camera) both images worked fine.Aspect ratio...hmmmm on that im not sure trial and error seems to be the key, you would need the devs to weigh in on that. hope the vid helped though
Great video. Helped me a lot, especially turning me on to GIMP. Thanks.
BTW, there is an intelligent line finder shaped like a pair of scissors in the tools that you can use to cut images out in just a few clicks instead of drawing around the part you want.
