Well, I started a thread back in Dec 2011 that’s seen a lot of activity (some 922,000 views over the course of a few years apparently...). That thread had a good deal of tips/strategies/discussions about League of Legends from new and old players alike. What’s this thread all about?For those that followed the previous thread, the type of content you see here will be fairly consistent to what you are used to. Please consider this a place to discuss LoL related content as you like. I'll do the same and treat the thread as a blog as well where I talk about what’s going on with me in LoL. Feel free to jump in and join the discussion if you like.
Quick background on meI played a lot of Demigod as pacov/cheesuscrust. Back in August 2011, I started getting heavily involved in League of Legends, and folks from the community were kind enough to help me figure things out. I play LoL most nights, stream, make videos and it’s my main gaming interest.

OK - so I played 3 more solo (4 total on alt account, 3 solo). 1 game with hunny... in which I learned people in this elo are not to be trusted. Hunny and I made a play to back up a super dummo. Could have been an ok play. Ended in 3 deaths for us. Lesson - don't trust mofos here.
Anyway, then 1 game solo where I didn't believe folks were inherently bad still and played braum... with a kog jungle. You shouldn't play braum here... braum = you carry a good adc. You cannot carry a slop team imo as low kill potential solo.
After that, I kicked into pacov of old. This is the shit I did on my LAN account. I become the selfish god of bot lane. FU runes/masteries on heavy AP carry. Lux in these games. No GP/10 crap - just power. Anyway, I crush it completely. Recruit myself some minions and requeue. Win again. I find someone that is actually good. An ADC jung/main. This means I now have a 3rd that I can use to help get hunny up to gold V so I can play with him again on my main. The guys fucking legit as well. 2 games - 23 and 24 kdas on lucy. Guy gets this shitty elo and is also pretty chill - said he was gold and got demoted due to afk last season. Anyway, high hopes. Think this guy EASILY belongs gold and prob plat based on a few games.
From what I've seen, hunny spends time when I'm not about solo climbing, so hopefully he gets on a streak and gets closer to his promos. Hunny had a serviceable jungle zac, so perhaps we can try that with this other fella adcing in this lower elo mess.

Yeah, I was going to mention that. He's obscenely good right now and in my opinion a must pick/ban every game. Was watching a Challenger ADC main play him last night and it was really scary.
Kog jungle currently has a 50% win in Diamond and the percentage gets better as you go lower in elo. So that Kog jungle you were talking about maybe wasn't trolling you when he was keeping the other team from getting the most OP champ that's in the game?
yeah - I haven't actually witnessed a good one yet, so I'm just going by stats. Guessing we'll see a bunch more today after the reddit post bringing it to more folks attention as well.

Someone on Reddit posted a list of potential Duskblade users winrate differences between patches. Definition of irony: When people are freaking out that AD Assassins are going to be OP but it turns out that they're all apparently fine after Duskblade's introduction and their natural prey (Kog) became ban worthy after the patch.

Still, I think this is a bit preliminary, but good data nonetheless (I hadn't seen this yet, thx for posting it!). The play rate being the bigger variable. I think we'll see a bunch of folks trying the item out, sucking with that champ + item, and the buggering off.
I played in exactly 1 game where we had a talon with the item and he was popping folks like it was his job. Talon's 1 to watch I think because the play rate shooting up so much. Could, and probably is, a bunch of crappers dropping the win rate.
Yeah, definitely a bunch of 'crappers' right now lowering the win rates of certain champions. I think also even folks that are good with the champions are trying to rush Duskblade too soon and maybe doing badly cause they're playing around the passive too much or getting overconfident after buying it. Can just picture bad Riven players not weaving in autos cause they don't want to put the passive on too soon or something.
So I'm still low enough elo that I'm trying to carry through heavier AP plays on my alt (pacov) as supports mostly. Been playing lux exclusively (and selfishly). Anyway, couldn't do that one game, so I want good ol morg. Haven't done an AP lean morg in forever as supp (don't have the runes for a normal morg support atm). Anyway, did it. Love it again. Very safe, very strong champ here. I do proper support items but toss in a zz here and there to force people to group. Forcing people to group in silver is good...
Anyway, love it. Was really missing playing proper support and this is close, just with FU dmg runes/masteries

got bumped directly from silver V to silver 3 anyway. Just plowed through a series playing morg a bunch. Hunny says he's almost promoted up to Gold V, so this alt acct crap should be done soon.
Continued on my alt yesterday a bit. Sitting 79 LP in silver 3. Boaz finished his placements and ended up silver V.
I'm kind of annoyed with Rito's system for what tiers can play together in ranked. I mean, I get why they are doing it - I don't really want someone that at least appears to have low elo showing up in my ranked games. But that crap where I duo'd a bunch w/ hunny and then cannot now without some handicap kind of blows.
I don't entirely know how it works - if its tier for tier matching at lower elos or if its just a plat can't play with a silver. For instance, I'm plat V and hunny is silver 1. Not possible to play together. Would that also be true if I hit plat IV and he hits gold V? If so, that also blows as if I sink time on my main and climb to plat IV, then that's more I can't play w/ pals... which is all kind of why I'm playing on my alt. I see a bit of playing on multiple accounts if I want to play ranked with pals in my future :/

That is going to be quite a thing on supports at least. Not sure how long it lasts, but def sounds strong to me (currently running 12/18/0 on my morg support page).
And zz portal is disabled. #thanksfuggingreddit. Grats on finding a fringe case break, teaching the entire fucking world how to exploit it, and getting the item disabled. What more, I doubt there's a simple solution to this thing that should probably never happen if it had not received publicity from some shitter just fugging about.

Went direct from silver 3 to silver 1 on my alt. Hunny is now in his series to promote to gold. Currently 1 and 1. Game 1 we massacred the enemy team. Game 2 went less well. I screwed up 1 early play that hurt us a bit (thought I had ignite vs exhaust so I hit the wrong champ ><). We recovered eventually, but the enemy team was just much better in all the other roles. We had a 1st time panth jungle, etc. Rough 1. Was hopig to help hunny get to 2-0 tonight . 1-1 is. So, perhaps tomorrow we finish out the series and hopefully he gets his gold.
I miss zz so much...
so many games I think... if I could just drop a zz. farging reddit man. i swear that's a huge portion of why climbing on this acct has been a total cake walk.

kog/darius pretty much at must ban win rates now. Kog with a higher win % than darius. Protect the kog comps are pretty freaking viable.

Anyway, back full time on my main acct. Still want to play ranked primarily, but i'll be sending out invites if you are able to join. I looked into it and I think I can play with anyone in plat/gold/dia. So, rip my alt for a bit.
recap on alt acct. I had a ton of fun playing solo a bunch. I meant to play w/ hunny a bit to help him power up to gold, but only ended up playing a few with him. It was nice to go hypee most games.
Braum in this elo discussion - Elo being silver/gold. Here's the thing with braum and other supports that are engage oriented. 1st - braums not quite the same as a leona for engage oriented, but I find he's a heck of a lot more about your adc understanding exactly what braum brings in order to have an optimal lane. Eg, an adc that factors in exactly how many stacks braums passive will be at after a trade vs someone that occassionally picks up on the whole 4 stack = stun = kill potential, etc. Or understanding exactly what a dash to them means or that shield means. I kind of think braum is a champ that you really need to understand to be able to do well with him if you are evenly matched at least. 2nd point - braum ain't carrying shit. He can have excellent plays, block key dmg, but his scaling is straight garbage. There is no damage braum option (looks at tahm kench building tank and hitting like a truck).
Add in that the entire team needs to get what braums passive does properly and now its even worse (eg top lane could have a kill right now if he's willing to flash for 1 more AA for the stun, etc). Anyway, I think braum asks too much of your team in lower elo. I think its better to play supports like morg that offer clear engage windows and some carry potential.
I started my low elo journey with braum. Decided after 2 games, no... this isn't a good idea. Swapped to my carry lux shite. Carried to silver 3 or so. Hopped back to morg and carried up to silver 1 near gold V and now I'm done. Wish I could have played braum more but I'm 100% sure I would not have climbed anywhere near as fast with him. That's also kind of why I think amumu was really strong in lower elos. People understand that if amumu hits a grab and ults, well its fing go time. If I land 3 stacks of my passive as braum folks don't always see that a big an opening.

So folks were a bit grouchy here and there tonight. So, in this game I fugged up a bit. I make many awful mistakes. I dare ask you, kind folks, what would have been a good, safe play in the clip above?
Flashing in front of him, next to the tower, would have been quite safe, he only needed a few hits blocked. Doesn't seem worth getting excited over though. He was definitely retrievable for a summoner.
So I'm generally not going to blow a flash there when the death isn't going to result in an objective for the other team (they didn't get the mid tower) and it puts me at risk of dying myself. You can say that it was "completely safe", but I was pretty sure Lux had her bind up (she did, she used it right where I would have flahsed into in the video) and I thought she had her ult up too. When you combine that with a Mundo who can dive towers very easily, a support can die there.
I generally want to hold the flash and keep my HP up. This increases our chances of holding the objective. If I flash to save you, in the best case scenario we both have to back. Then they have a 4v2 against 2 ADCs and therefore have a very good chance of getting mid. On the other hand, if you die and I hold the flash, we can defend the mid tower easily 3v4 (as it played out).
So what I did was arguably the best TEAM decision since it greatly increased our chances of keeping mid tower up, although I likely could have saved you (at the cost of a summoner and maybe my own life). In any case, it was a close decision other way and I don't really feel that it was necessary for you to whine about my supporting for the next 20 minutes because of this play.

hue. Anywho, my funnin aside, folks seemed really edgy a bit last night. Dear god you and hunny were going it at hardcore after 1 game together. It was kind of an agitation machine - cow wound up about ranked and then us getting stomped that game, you and hunny laning together brought out the best in the world, me harassing you, bleh, bryff hopping out of retirement blehbleh. Its k. Its ranked garbo queue... supposedly not shit queue is coming.
