Well, I started a thread back in Dec 2011 that’s seen a lot of activity (some 922,000 views over the course of a few years apparently...). That thread had a good deal of tips/strategies/discussions about League of Legends from new and old players alike. What’s this thread all about?For those that followed the previous thread, the type of content you see here will be fairly consistent to what you are used to. Please consider this a place to discuss LoL related content as you like. I'll do the same and treat the thread as a blog as well where I talk about what’s going on with me in LoL. Feel free to jump in and join the discussion if you like.
Quick background on meI played a lot of Demigod as pacov/cheesuscrust. Back in August 2011, I started getting heavily involved in League of Legends, and folks from the community were kind enough to help me figure things out. I play LoL most nights, stream, make videos and it’s my main gaming interest.

oh - and this is what Solo Renekton ran his last renekton game... which seems a little strange:
He opted for feast over double edged sword - guessing maybe for the added sustain, but not really sure. He also went fury (AS) over sorcery (ability dmg). I checked and sorcery does work fine with reneks abilities. A little weird tho - he might have just adjusted his renek page for another champ maybe...

i think that Feast is one of the best T2 masteries... i think most high ELO folk are using feast + biscuits + minion damage. That said, Renekton does have pretty great sustain, so DES is probably better on him than most other. But, SRO tends to build higher-damage which makes DES pretty risky.
Sorcery is probably better than Fury but maybe he was playing against a tank? i can see AS being slightly better for very long, extended fights. Maybe also why he went Feast.
The consensus from a lot of high tier players is that Double Edged Sword isn't worth grabbing over Feast.
yeah - I get that in general that feast is superior on most champs, but I'm still trying to figure out if its something to take on renek. I don't think you need it if you have perseverance. I wonder if its mostly compensating for thunder lord. Not sure, but I'll lean towards whatever mr million game renekton seems to think.
Currently, I'm bouncing back and forth on master pages. For my playstyle, I'm actually still liking going 18/0/12 with a point in fervor. Its more consistent damage with a safer fall back via perseverance. But I really am bouncing back from one game to another...not entirely sure what is best. I feel like the 18/0/12 is better for the early kills due to dmg at lower levels being consistently up for every trade.

i didn't straight up break out the math brain, but I'm pretty sure thunderlords out scales fervor pretty solidly on renek as well. On an early rotation, you land 2, 3 AA's at most. So at level 1, that's 1 dmg per stack. You get the stacks pretty quick, but even on a best case scenario of an extended full combo, you are getting 3 aa's, probably for about 2+4+6 bonus or 12 dmg vs thunder which you can instantly proc on an empowered w. I should actually do the math on the rotation time with potential vs expected.
Renekton should be applying at least 4 stacks...
His W applies 2 un-empowered, 3-empowered and if you use an empowered W you have enough time to very, very easily get 1 more autoattack before due to the prolonged stun duration. Ideally, you should be going:
(~80 fury) > E over creeps > auto > Q (=> 50 fury) > W (=> 0 fury) > auto > E out
One you have Tiamat you get 2 more autos since you get to auto-cancel your W, for one more "free" one and then whack them one more time in the 1 second they are stunned.
Remember Thunderlords also have a 25 second (or whatever) CD, so you can't only really look at a single rotation unless you are only trading when its up.
ANYWAY, Thunderlords is still opie-opie and should be used, but once that gets nerfed, Fervor is going to fit a higher-dps renekton build a lot better. Maybe Thunderlords is better in the melee vs ranged matchup (less frequent, but bigger windows), or if you building differently (building tanky because you are being 2v1'd etc).
I'm willing to put the time into creating the PDT announcer pack, but I'm having some issues and need a little help. Anyone able to spend a little time tracking down how to view the wpk files? I spent about an hour yesterday trying to sort things out and nothing worked - literally everything I found failed...
renekton build question for you, hedgie. You might not have much to comment as I dont know if you've been playing him this preseason with the item changes, etc.
solo top renekton has a core build - he adjusts based on game, but here's what he does

Long sword 3 potions
Phage
Black cleaver
Spirit visage or deadman depends on lane opponent can get components if you need resistances earlier before black cleaved
Finish merc treads
Whatever situational items you want (maw, randuin, sunfire, thronmail, titanic hydra, frozen mallet, gauge, warmogs)
Sterak's gage***
i usually copy SRO (and pretty much every other high-Elo gator for the past 3 years) by making sure to build Tiamat or a Timat item first.
The amount of lane pressure it gives is really instrumental - it's not just about the W cancellation.
i think that i tend to build slightly tankier than him AFTER the first item compared to high-Elo gators. i've always like to build Black Cleaver (even pre-rework) on him as a 4th item since it acts like a LW but with some health stats.
The following is in the context of older seasons, so the item paths are going to be different:
1st item was almost always Tiamat > Hydra.
2nd item was totally lane-dependent. Typically it would be Randuins or whatever item was stronger Banshee/Spirit Visage. If i was really ahead against an AP laner, i would go Hexdrinker since it gives you some defensive insurance but also let's you continue to pressure hard. i know Randuins is a bit weaker now, but Dead Man's plat works for the new season
3rd item was generally "what the team needed". If someone was really fed, it'd be the defensive item to try to beat that (if i already went HP+Arm, i'd go Sunfire here). If our team was squishy, i'd build more defensive items (Locker, Randuins, Sunfire, whatever). i'd only build a damage item (generally TBC but sometimes Maw) 3rd if i was not only really ahead, but our team lacked damage (eg, something like Naut jungle, Braum support).
4th item was usually TBC as noted above. If i were really ahead and already had 2 damage items i'd build GA instead.
I think hydra first is fine as long as you are not behind/been camped all game and your early dominance is gone. Hydra is a great snowball item but pretty aweful when you are in the trying-to-salvage-something-out-of- this-lane-phase mode when you just need to build full tank and hope for late game team fights where you can cc the riven you fed off your adc.

HELP ME and you will get a PDT voice pack this weekend including Peter please, piss piss sugar piss, karl sighing, pacov arguing with pete, and so on - I've got some funny shit and I can't make it work).

The pack above gives you a silly voice pack. DL link is there + easy to followin instructions (copy paste file - backup orig if u care). It's actually kind of fun and gets you a bit amped when you kill inhib towers.
edit - if you do want to help, use the link above to see the WPK file that is used. FIGURE OUT HOW TO EXTRACT THOSE FILES AND TELL ME. That's all I need to make the voice pack - I've got all the other stuff sorted. Thanks.

Tiamat builds into an item that is more tanky than BC. If you go with the defensive hydra route, you get more health plus health regen for essentially the same gold as BC. Plus one of the abilities scales with more health as you build pure tank, while BC scales with more offense, not with building tank.
That's the other advantages of Tiamat first. If you want to go pure offense and snowball, you can. If you want to go more defensive and just stack health/defense, it works in that build as well. If you start Phage, you lock yourself into BC because I don't know what else Renekton would want out of Phage really.

Well, my OCD kicked in. I'm holding off on the PDT pack for tonight anyway. I decided to work on a proof of concept to make sure I could make the packs without issue. I can.
Anyway, someone released a DJ Khaled announcer pack, which I find pretty amusing. Anyway, the audio levels were pretty well shit, so I went through and sorted them. Sounds pretty good now. Anyway, if you want to try it out, download the file and the extract the WPK file to
