The ship designer is out now in the the alpha 2.0 patch, so when have a that ship designed feel free to post it here and so others can see what kind of cool things you can build with it.
A gunboat (I'm not very proud of this design, but it looks intimidating ):
Hund-class assault fighter:
I made some more ships including the Excelsior,Sabre and the starship from the 1st new star trek film which I don't know the name of the class?
Excelsior:

Try unlocking all techs so you have all hull sizes. Also from ship designers options select to show all races ship parts. This will give you a better selection of parts and let you make ST ships the way you really want to. Don't be afraid to make your own custom parts for ship such as warp nacelles and bridge sections.
Here are a few examples:
NX-01 Class Enterprise.
Akira Class
Steamrunner Class
Don't let yourself become limited to one races ship parts.
Here are some new custom designs based on ships from Star Trek Online.
Avenger Class
Sentinel Class
Comments always welcome.
Just a question, do you have to be in the age of ascension to develop the massive scale hulls? I've got the required tech but I still can't select it.
That would also explain the existence of the three ages in the first place for me.
I've got the tiny, small, medium and large laser based ships, but now I want to build a huge dreadnought monstrosity.
If you want to completely bypass research open the debug console (~ key) type in... unlock... press enter. All tech research will be done and all scale hulls will be available.
Thanks Rand As I've said before I'm always in awe of your designs and thanks for the advice and the tip about unlocking all hulls I'll keep large hulls for the Nebula class and reserve Huge hulls for the galaxy/sovereign/and the Titan from STA III mod for Sins Rebellion as well as canon classes I'll be adding my own designs as I'm just getting to grips with the ship designer as I didn't do any as you were having them broke by every new Beta patch and I would have gone doolally if that had happened to me
ED will tell you to not play the game any when doing this so you don`t have any extra mass reduction or minieraztion or shrinkage added to them just unlock and build away!!!!! later if you want to test the ships by all means play the unlock game after you have build or creation!!!!
Now you know how I got so good... LOL. Remaking each and every ship 3 times each beta broke them, I got lots of practice. Yes it did drive me bonkers!!!!!!! Just to add to Nasty's advice, don't arm your ships just build the hulls and save them. Also save game even if your not playing on map so ships save as well. Name save Star Fleet Shipyard for example. No need to arm ships until your going to test them or use then in game.
I am eyeballing the Integrity Class from Pacific 201 to do next. She is a post Romulan war star ship that predates both Axanar and TOS era.
I'm not very happy with it, but here's my turtle carrier ship hybrid.
I tried using photobucket.com for pictures of ships, but for some reason it adds a lot of white space to the picture. Anyone else experiencing this?
@Nasty thanks I'm just saving them as templates atm
@Rand yeah that design looks retro enough to fit it looks cool as well
@The Birthday Party I use photobucket and haven't had any problems so far? I just click on the bottom url link then paste it straight into the comments text box here.
Yeah same. But for some reason a bunch of screen captures I uploaded get extra white space.
Thank you for the pro tip MrStarTrek! That will be way easier than playing a game up to the point of accessing larger parts .
Huntsman Patrol corvette:
Liberty-class frigate:
Trident-class cruiser:
Dominion destroyer/carrier (btw, I encourage you guys to post your all your awesome ship design files in this thread: https://forums.galciv3.com/466184/page/1/#3563802
These designs are already there
I see the same thing on one of my pics. Pic did not load properly.
It's been a while since I posted in here, but my own Fed fleet has been through some changes since that first deformed Oberth:
I created some much more simpler than normal ships. 3 of which use very few parts(but sometimes multiple of those parts). And one more complicated ship. No names just Drone 1, 2, 3, and 4.
You don't have to play the game to test your ship.
A tiny blast from the past.
I said i was gonna do it and I did it!
Post Romulan War, Pre-Federation Star Ship from fan film Star Trek: Pacific 201.
