Anyone paying attention to Warlock 2?
It seems like an incremental upgrade to Warlock 1. New combat mechanics, a couple of new races, and a few other features.
It is quite a lot more beautiful than the prequel, I think.
I'm buying it, so I'll let you know.
As an "Instant Access" game, I don't think there's an NDA.
However, I'm REALLY looking forward to Age of Wonders 3. It looks like it may replace Legendary Heroes for me, sadly. All of the "Let's Plays" make it look like a better game...
The whole $20 DLC pre-order thing for what should be $5 at most (and really should just be a pre-order bonus) combined with previews calling it an expansion pack have turned me off of the game. It went from will buy, to maybe 75% off if ever
AOW3 coming out makes this a lot easier.
Been playing it a bit and it's definitely an upgrade. I didn't *really* like the first one, but this one has some serious shades of brilliance. There are still some weird quirks (I have to watch ALL of my allies every move??!) but the game looks much prettier, the UI is much improved, the new races are fun and the new campaign is really great. It's not as deep as say, Civ 5 with expansions, but it is much deeper than it was before and a LOT more fun.
I really like Paradox, so supporting them here is a no brainer for me. If you have $30 to spend here, it's well worth it in my humble opinion.
Game seems to love throwing impossible shit at me in the early game. How the hell am I supposed to kill a 300 hitpoint peasant mob with 35 attack and immune against everything, also it selfresses and cleaves damage, at turn 25? Or a 60 hp vampire that has a ranged lifedrain attack?
Technically, it's still not "ready"....
It's a lot of fun. The AI is still not that bright, but the smaller maps seems to help a bit. The DLC seems insane priced, but you don't need it since they are releasing an editor. One could make all that crap if they really wanted too.
Its better than the first Warlock mostly because there are now more dangerous stuff out there (random monsters). I love that.
The problem is that it suffers from terrible AI right now.
More effort is spent fighting the world than other players.
