A thread to continue the community project, Working name BIOSPHERE-talk.
It looks Like I´m not the One to do the Blind afterall then due to what it seems to require & don´t have enough time I´ll withdraw my skin and graphics.
-I will release this skin At a later date as an individual upload with another name
Hopefully someone else with enough time on their hands can create a WindowBlindsskin for this project.
I did my best Thanks /Andrew
Not to complain, but Dropbox would have been better. It's free and no ads, no dummy links.
Guys, just be careful of the 2 dummy links that say Download and To Download. They will try to get you to download things you don't want/need.
-
I got 'em!
Mwahh ha ha ha ha
I don't think it's ever too early to say, I'm running Windows 7 and available to test skins.
Wonder who else might be available.
I did the 'to download' and it did go somewhere else but on a different page. I closed that and the list for Andy's stuff was right there. Don't know what that was all about. Click on the link in the OP, Its good. I went back and checked it.
I didn't mean to offend, Andy, but some people do get confused and caught by "dummy links." I was simply pointing out that your choice of link sites wasn't the best choice for a community project.
Being that this IS a community project, I felt it necessary to be sure that people don't mistakenly choose the wrong links, etc.
No need to be defensive. Just make it easy, for the community.
If you'd like, Andy, I have a Dropbox account and we could use it to get the files to everyone without ads, dummy links, etc.
Up to you.
Sendspace has some dummy links too... I've had friends get caught downloading stuff on that...I always mention which is the download link to press... sneaky li'l buggers...
Download all worked well here..
It's looks really cool... lovely ideas in the start menu.... but, at the risk of critiquing... I did prefer the previous more muted flowers scattered in the vines... and the fish looks a bit out of water... would lose the fish.... JMO....
I am worried....there doesn't seem to be enough interest in this project.
We still need a project manager, in my opinion, someone who isn't skinning for the project, that way, objectivity is kept.
Agreed. Sorry, Andy.
I get your drift... but maybe a different fish... not so... gold.. it's contrasting too much with the purples and pinks.... it's just the colour, placement and shape is not fitting in with the scene to me... before, with the previous flowers, it was more muted and flowed better into the horizon and sky... more natural...more sophisticated...
maybe people have been waiting for a direction with the blind design... well... it's here folks.... taking shape nicely....
maybe Tim might do a Rainy... when he's on land... he does a top notch rainy...
Edit:
I'd make two more points.... change the name of the post to include "Community Project"... people coming to the forums recently may think it's a personal WIP and if they see community project makes it a bit clearer if they wish to be included...
also, small thing.... when uploading skins to the gallery... do not leave a space in between the letters of BIOSPHERE...(if that's what you intended to do, like the post name) ... I noticed when v did that with V O X ... other accessory skins were uploaded with no space... makes it a pain searching for accessories as they don't include all items of the suite in the one search... (actually, just tested that again, and now V O X is showing up 'no results', so the search mechanism must now have been changed to not recognise spaces at all...)
I thought about it three times and this will be certainly my last comment to you EVER...I took the freedom to download the Photoshop file - Layer 69 is clearly not your own work and was what I were looking for! I first thought i might be wrong about it and even feeled a bit guilty, and i might been wrong, but now i feel no guild especially after your last comment after i compared both images and saw it in PSD.
But you claim i make empty accusations way to go- How about you go and show the unmerged version of it with each pen stroke for the picture ( layer 69 . Mhh? )
Uvah, it only has to be waterproof if the rats throw water balloons!
Does that include blind skinners? I can volunteer a weird logon & wallpaper! LOL
Quoting Stramp, reply 72Does that include blind skinners? I can volunteer a weird logon & wallpaper! ...John, I believe that anyone can contribute, it is a *community* project, and you are part of this crazy community!!
I have thought about a wallpaper ( which is really the only thing I do). But my *styles* are not what people usually consider to go with windowblinds. Anyway, the more the merrier and gives people more then a couple of choices. My wish would be that all of those that only make wallpapers, you know who you are, also make one specifically for this project. Whether it is a photograph ( IslandDog thinking of you ), or a render, etc. Anyway this is my two cents worth.
I'm having a procedure tomorrow, so won't be around for a day or so, I think.
@ BK33
If you want to claim rip, take it to a moderater, this is NOT the place to accuse people
Only a mod will see the psd of that artwork that I personally recreated for this community project. I took time out from paying clients
to recreate the graphics that neone6 requested.
Every pixel is my own in that new render. (layer 69)
If you have a problem with that: take it to a mod
If you cant participate in a community project without being a troll: thats not my problem, thats yours. maybe you should take up a hobby
that doesnt involve disrupting a peaceful thread.
If you have any more comments: thats your problem too, neither neone6 or i will be responding to them, we will simply just refer them to a moderator.
That being said, i hope this community project goes well, we've had so many successful ones in the past, ive also contributed to many over the years here
on WC. If i had time, i would participate more in this one, but i simply dont have time anymore for WC, real life and clients who pay are now my main priority.
