The last community skin we did was the Holiday Community Suite back in 2009. I wouldn't mind doing another winter holiday suite, but that's for later in the year.

So lets start getting ideas for the next community suite. Do we go for a season like Spring or Summer? Another holiday? A different type of theme?

So, you already lost the original skinner.
No one else volunteers a wb for a project, and I will add , i mentioned bluemart awhile back, so you wait until another skinner adds his thoughts and spends time on trying to get something going, and you dismiss me for a skinner that has had opportunity to join in all along. Really makes one feel part of things.
That said, I do not want to rain on any parade and want to see a project get done,
So, whatever you do, am rooting for a good result.

I am not so much hurt as not sure where I fit here.I to date have offered for all projects, my help, since my arrival, with no success. I was .am as new as any new skinner and would have loved that support for my work.
I am not sure how you all see me? A newbie, and oldie, a nobody, a sucky skinner, honestly not sure , so these failed efforts to join in just hit hard.
I encourage you to follow the Metal Tech idea, or Armada, needs a seven version though, and know you all will do a good job for all to enjoy.
As for Andy, it was a group failure.

well...the direction wasn't going too badly.... it was more 'understanding' and 'communication' issues... neone didn't seem to understand that as a community blind, people do have input to critique design as it goes along and come up with alternatives... and play around with them until there is agreement...then proceed to the next step... it was just 'his' way.. he's a one man band... and that's fine.. just not a good fit for a community effort and he didn't seem to hear what people were saying to be guided... a shame..
The communications issue was we were not understanding that that mock up graphic with the yellow flowers was not his work... as he had jumped down bk33's throat for the 'accusation'... Had he acknowledged that clearly, then we wouldn't have been pressing for it's return... just making adjustments to the new graphics that copied the scene which would have suited everyone..eg..flower colour change and it would have been easy to change the flower colour in ps..
It's a shame it didn't go ahead but as with any endeavour that doesn't succeed it's important to understand why it didn't work so history does not repeat itself... so, understanding, communication and cooperation are paramount for success and enjoyment of the project... 'cause that's the main aim..enjoyment...
there should be no failed efforts to join in.... just jump in... the more the merrier... choose something to do... doesn't matter if someone else is already doing one... often in v's accessories there would be 2 Xions or 2 Rainlenders or 2 clocks or a couple of sets of docks...numerous wallpapers... there is no limit...
What other applications do you do?... or what would you like to learn?

Ok, I will comment and my goodness don't anyone take anything the wrong way as I am happy to see something is still trying to take place.
I don't really chat with Denis as I believe the time I did spend advising and helping him is done now, but he knows if he gets stuck he can always ask me. You can see the results in his work. He even mentioned me in one of his comments on his WB page which I thought was very nice. I have spent a lot of time helping in people private but it's never mentioned and that is fine.
Back to the Community Project. There is a WB decided on, but is there? I don't know and that is not to knock a very nice WB, Metal Tech. There are other factors from everything I have read and observed over the years doing a project. The design of the WB, will it work with matching many other things to be made. Maybe it will but it would have to be from the frames as I can think of a few thing that all the cutouts on the startmenu wouldn't be able to be incorporated. However the WB can be used because the using the frame would be no problem.
Here is the problem I see. No one is actually saying what they would like to make as far as other skinning projects. No one has committed to anything specific and if they are thinking about it and have any question aren't asking. There are a few things that are actually pretty easy such as Rainlander as mentioned above.
So the thread is active but really no real activity from other people and that is needed. Well there is a little such as Wallpaper. One more problem. Lets say things start to improve and several things get made. In the past Philly would make a suite and it was all together. He doesn't do that anymore because of the program not being supported. So now you would have many different locations for things and a month after everything was uploaded most people visiting wouldn't even know there was a great combinations that matched.
I'm no expert on this for sure just throwing out what I see and hoping this thing takes off but having doubts because of the time it's already been visible with very little activity except for the same few. Only how i see it members not saying i'm correct.
I've been onboard, am onboard, will stay onboard until agreement is reached. You want to learn smx? I'll teach you, no problem. You want to learn Rainlendar? I'll show you that too. As for the others...aside from my fits and starts with docks...you best go with those in the know.

Dave, a suite can be put together by any of us. Yes, Philly had a flair for it, but he has lost interest, since Theme Manager doesn't work anymore and SD doesn't seem to be worried about it.
I still have interest in making suites and will return to making them when an appropriate software is available.
I knew all the above that was just said. I just can't remember it till I read it again. Leave me alone, quite quoting me. i'm old have some respect for age .
