We've had several of these threads around the forums for games in general, but I thought it would be a good time to start one specifically for Gal Civ. We have lots of players from way back and players who are venturing into Galactic Civilizations for the first time with GC3.
Lets take a moment and introduce yourselves and maybe a quick bit about your history with Galactic Civilizations if you are a previous player.
My first experience with GalCiv was with GC2 actually. I received it as a gift from a friend, fired it up in the evening and didn't end up going to bed until well early the next morning. It's in my personal top 10 games of all time list, and I'm just as excited for Gal Civ 3 as everyone else.
Your turn!
Shit, he's onto me! You're most welcome buddy
Fate.
Fate is real, your a fraud. Lol.
fate it's becoming to much to see a Australian Master Chief called fate making jokes about his screen name and a Actual Fatalist. It sounds like a SNL episode. Lol.
DARCA
Thats one SNL episode i would love to see.
Greetings GalCivians!
I am Canadian and I've been an avid gamer since my early 20's, I'm 51 now -- hence the user name if you know your Traveller lore, -- and I have enjoyed all sorts of games from RPGs, to board games to PC games. I am quite keen on 4X turn based games (not a fan of RT or FPS games) -- I guess I suffer from a little god complex when gaming, -- I own 4X board games like Third Imperium, Civilization, Space Empires, and 4X PC games like MOO2, Civ3 and 4 with all expansions, Gal Civ 1, 2, and hopefully 3! (Definitely due for a new PC now!)
With respect to GC2 I have lurked the GC2.com site for a few years and assimilated much of the mod ideas . I really enjoyed doing a lot of XML modding of the game and I've added dozens of new techs and tech trees featuring themes on psionics, robotics (droids!), racial starting techs, and new weapons. Additionally I indulged in adding about 30 new improvements, projects and wonders, and over 120 new custom races complete with new art borrowed from open sources (Google has been a friend!).
So you can imagine I'm quite pumped for Galactic Civilizations III!
Hand that to Stardock! 120 races with art would probably be appreciated.
Hello everybody. My name is Mistralok, and I have been a player in the GalCiv world since the beginning. I was surprised when the mention of this game hit my e-mail, and purchased it on the spot. It was a pleasant surprise. I am sure that there are many here that I have chatted with before, to the point of electronic friendship that a game like this can provide. I look forward to communicating with you all again. My picture is different; it suits the game, and I would be pleased if someone could guess who it is.
Anyway, hello to the old game players, and good luck to the new folk, I look forward to speaking with you both.
Your friend and gamer, Mistralok
