If you want to capture Umberdroths be a beastlord, having my sovereign running around with an Umberdroth or two (or three or four if you're really lucky) is one of the main reasons I take that trait. Plus brilliance for the magic power. If you do that, on the quest where you can find or fight an Umberdroth it will be much higher lvl if you fight and tame it then if you get it via the quest. Although that probably is influenced by the monster lvl settings from your game, I play on max monsters at max lvl.
That plus a commander with an army of cave bears is doable early game and is pretty deadly (literally ), which is why beastlord is my favourite background.
I have a question about the loot tables, because I am wondering how completely random certain items are. In the game I abandoned because I didn't install the mod fully I had found me a bear tooth, which was pretty freaking amazing as it gives maul. Do only bears drop it, and if so can it be from any bear or only certain bears?
Also, I am curious if taming as opposed to killing affects loot. Certain mobs I almost always try and tame, like cave bears, the big spiders, etc., and I was curious if I might be missing out on higher lvl loots, in particular the bear tooth.
Hey everyone! Sorry I've been away for a bit but Iv'e been bust with truck driving.....also I had to get a new laptop since my old one got coke spilled on the keyboard. Anyway, after some work, I've been playing for a bit finetuning my custom factions. Now I;m satisfied enough to post my updated factions which can be found here.
So here are my Custom Factions and Leaders (Note: All are Kingdoms; designed to balance out all the Empires).
BTW one suggestion I have for a future update would be to add polearm weapons like halberds and voulges (both from the Demons and Wizards mod);
I suggest the halberd to be a spear class weapon similar in stats to the Pike with an increased attack of 20 and the added abilities of Yank and cleave, while the voulge would be basically an axe with the added ability to impale.
Pollaxes would be another possible weapon; basically take the standard warhammer, add a spike at the top and extend the handle to make a two handed weapon. It can bash, impale and yank. (BTW here's a hilarious video about Poleaxes.).
One thing I noticed looking at the Boar spear is how far down the wings were; if you replace the shaft and spear tip with a sword blade, you would have a swordstaff (yes this is a real weapon BTW).
One thing I noticed was all the Hergon related stuff like tusks, tenderloin etc. So I thought "How about a Hergon trait?"
SO here's my idea for a new trait: "Hergon breeders":

First off great mod!
I do have a few minor issues though:
1) Some of the Strategic spell bookmarkers have "String not found" as names (like the Buy and Sell ones).
2) Monster armies that have "’s" at the end usually have "#B" or something like that instead.

This mod has so many options, fantastic!
Two more issues though:
3) When I go into unit details and click "Equipment" my equipment appears under the unit details text.
4) I got the Brago quest twice (where the guy challenges you to a duel).
I really like this mod and thanks for making it. Some minor bugs with it though.
Some items that aren't equippable or don't work. The Elemental Wand does not work for ranged attacks. The Wave Cresting Boots (i forget their name) are not equippable by any hero as far as i can see (are they meant to be mage only or something?). Neither are the Practice Buckler or the Armbands of Integrity.

What do all the halfdrake camps and stuff do? Do they add those creatures to the garrison or what? Or are they Empire only?
Life Paramountcy doesn't seem to work (maybe because i'm casting it on shards upgraded to shrines? don't know - it uses up the mana but doesn't change the shard/shrine type)

Why i polymath under weakness? As far as I can see all it does is add 2 design points (which is a good thing).
