I've been playing with the newest XDC version; I really am enjoying all the new stuff.
Anyway, I've been busy creating new custom factions; here's the results of my efforts:
First my updated version of my flagship faction, Vestalla (images in Dropbox):

Notes: Vestalla emphasizes defense and technology; you start out with 4 techs plus various bonuses. Tanned leather plus light plate plus 1h spears means Vestallan troops will be very well protected early on; fortified troops will be very difficult to dislodge. Vestalla is ideal for a conclave based strategy.
Their leader Kashadda is a powerful channeler, equally adept at offense, defense and support; as a magician, she can be very powerful. Her anatomist trait plus Hunter profession reflects her training as a surgeon; give her a good dagger and she can be quite dangerous in close quarters.
Now for my new faction; the Kingdom of Auric.

Notes; The Kingdom of Auric is basically an enhanced version of Capitar with all its traits plus additional traits that reflect lessons from their war with the Tarth (plus the banker trait!) This kingdom will have LOTS of wealth plus fast, powerful armies, that can move and fight very quickly (especially if they have Warhorses!). The "wasteful" weakness is perfect for them (and with their wealth, only a minor annoyance.). Auric can build up cities very quickly once a bazaar is established in them.
Lady Lali is a wealthy noble banker with some useful offensive and support spells. Her tactician and cautious traits means her armies can hit fast and run if necessary. She is rather vain about her hair (which she styles after her ancestor Serrane).
Note: Auric starts out with 600 gildar(!!!)

PrimalSavage, how is Devitalized meant to work? Is it meant to grant an injury at the start of about every five battles, or an extra injury if you die in battle? So far in all my games I have never got an extra injury with Devitalized (all in all about ten battles). Just wondering how it's meant to work.
PrimalSavage, what if you use a Race with a non-standard Allegiance? Would I just need to edit your Tech Tree files? For example, I am running a Wraith Kingdom player.
What are the spider bodies? I don't have DLC05. Is that to build those Kasst-type creatures?
What about the Empire-specific techs? Or do you show both Kingdom and Empire techs for all races (except the hard-coded Empire-only ones Trog and Urxen) with an Allegiance prereq to decide which one to use?
What does moving the NecromancyRevamped folder from the Mods\Data directory to the Mods directory actually do? It would still be overwritten by the later XtraDeconstruct. Do you have any ideas?
In my next update, I'll have necromancy revamped install into the base mod folder instead of the data folder. Its a small change on my part but it sounds like it would prevent a lot of headaches.
I never realized that quirk... is it because the game loads in the base folder first ignoring the data folder, then load in the data folder thereafter?
Wait... what?
You can mod the elemental.str by putting it in the Data folder?
I'm not sure if Arcalite is a product of this mod, but why is it that when you choose the skill to boost faction-wide production, that it doesn't boost that which is produced by the heroes?
Awesome will try it thanks.
Not sure about this example, but that's how all faction wide boosts to production of a resource work - it only affects resource production by cities / improvements.. and not that produced by champions / units.
Thanks abob101.
EDIT2: Looks like the ArtDefs are already defined for all the BMB Items.
Good job on finding out the special nature of the Mods\Data directory!
If you're using BMB with CoS (even under the umbrella of XtraDeconstruct), you need to download the compatible version. Check out the optional files on Nexus and snatch the appropriate one.
I just edited my previous post. Yes, I just checked, I am using the CoS compatible version. You've even got all the Faiths included (even though PrimalSavage has only done FaithAir so far ), and other mod races like the Hashaini. Well done!
Where does the Forest Leather Cuirass come from? It's not from BMB, it's not from CoS, I don't think it's from X D, and it doesn't seem to be a core or DLC armor. That one does not fit on newer modeltypes, so I just need to find where it's from so I can update the <GameItemTypeArtDef>.
It seems the new stuff does not have its descriptions set right, Is this a bug, or is it just something on my side?
