People of the forums, if you notice the following things about this program, please speak up and say something here:
-On hdmi connection, windows becomes unresponsive for about one minute or two. Clicking on the taskbar will result in windows crashing and restarting.
-Icons somethings leaves your folder portal you made for it and goes into another or either goes straight out of the portal and onto the main desktop.
I've sent this in to be looked at but all I'm getting is the same circular questions over and over again. Would you please say something in this post to let them know that it's not isolated to just my computer. We already did the scannow and the purge and nothing is wrong with my computer. Pitch in.
(do not respond if you did not try it please)
I use my Toshiba Satellite laptop a lot, HDMI plugged into my 42" plasma screen TV in the living room, running fences, with no problems. I don't turn off fences.
Laptop res is 1600 x 900. I'm pretty sure the TV res is 1080. I do leave both screens on.
No. It's covered up. Defeats the purpose of even reporting the problem doesn't it.
For the other problem:
If you compare the pics I've already posted, you'll see that now a folder has bled out of a portal under the recycle bin (desktop wallpaper is on change mode). It does stuff like this from time to time as well. And is not replicable on demand. It just happens randomly when deleting or changing the names of stuff.
Also, I forgot to mention that I work on a lesser priviledged account if that accounts for anything (extra security measure against viruses).
I posted an eventviewer log earlier. What do you supposed the crossthread deadlock means?
I never tried fences 1. What I meant by all fences earlier was all versions of fences 2.
That's going to be problematic for Support to solve. Any/all 'bugs' need to be replicated in-house in order to resolve them.
It's always going to be quite possible it's system-specific, particularly if others have not seen the issue.
I would expect that if it cannot be suitably replicated the only option would be to exit the program when connecting/disconnecting the monitor.
I have Fences running happily on several OS vers...but none has multi monitors...
I think I maybe narrowed it down to what it is.
When I looked up cross thread deadlock, I saw something that said may not have enough priviledges.
So I logged on to my master account and made 3 fences. And stuck the few icons I had on the desktop in them. Then I plugged it up with hdmi. It worked fine.
So, the problem could be:
-too many icons
-doesn't work properly on lesser priviledged accounts. being restricted/held back.
I believe I will go on and say that it is the 2nd one considering ya'll say it works fine for ya'll and I doubt that ya'll are on a non-admin account.
I'd also suggest you choose one antimalware and work with just that.
Using more than one can also render your system unstable, as well as giving you (paradoxically) less protection.
More like Norton by itself will annihilate your system
Nah, like I said earlier they've all been working fine together and I've already disable a feature in one of them that did lock the system so everything has been fine for 10+ years. I'm good, but thanks for your concern.
Been there...done that....
