I just wanted to say that what really got me interested in Gal Civ 2 was not the graphics, shipbuilder, or campaign/story. It was the game play journals written by Mr. Wardell and others. I thought the one by Tom Francis for PC Gamer UK was epic. I really enjoyed reading them and I hope there will be more journals of GalCiv 3 from Mr. Wardell and others at Stardock.

These are some good ones, probably the best recounts of a TBS ever, and in GalCiv no less!
And I agree; journals and diaries are pretty neat, especially when they're done well. Also, like you I was hooked by Brad's little beginner's guide. Small world
Yes, the first of these was the one that hooked me. I had never heard of GalCiv II before reading them, and pretty much immediately bought the game after finishing. As did my flatmate. We then spent the next few weeks yelling to each other about our progress in our respective games and showing off our own ludicrous ship designs. Then I realised that there was a whole forum full of game reports from developers and players alike...
