I assume it's all fixed-position again? No planets rotating around their stars?
Planets probably not because that would change the map. But I'm curious about that blackhole which is a static object. Froggy any chance that you could create a gif with some of the early animations. Also is that star around the blackhole animated?
Also, since the reason for the image is to show off the UI I have to say it looks great. Nice and clean. Give the art designer a big for me.

I remember playing the GalCiv 2 alpha/beta when you first released it and it was waaaaaaaaay more rough than that GC3 screenshot (the ships had no textures, for one), so I hope you'll let us in soon!

Is there a continue movement button? This was a very useful feature that Endless Space had. It made managing a large number of late game fleets so much easier.
I'm starting to think that little orb is an anomoly.
It appears the planet lighting is correctly coming from the stars with the exception of Drengi's moon which does not have a shadow. Man this screenshot is beautiful.
I'm noticing the red 'lava' effect on a couple big rocks in the asteroids (above Kona and another near the blue binary star). Possible bigger output nodes, or alternate resources mined from them?
Clearly the morale-population link has been significantly altered, there's no way you'd have 32.2 billion people at 89% happiness under the GC2 model.
I'm very concerned by the hourglass symbol with the 432 next to it in the far upper right corner. That doesn't make any sense in relation to the tech being researched underneath it, but it's on the same row as several other empire stats. Possible timed turn mechanic (for multiplayer, obviously)? Simple turn counter, maybe?
I'm also interested in the two far right tabs in the planet list. The one with the exclamation point might be a way to look at recent events, but I don't know what the one right of that might be.
The middle tab is interesting too, I'm suspecting it to be space-stations.
This might be pedantic, but anyone else notice archaeology is spelt wrong in the tech being researched? I noticed quite a few spelling and grammatical mistakes in the technology descriptions in Galciv II, especially the late-game techs, and the occasional odd formatting change like the Precursor History Altarian tech description I think?
Those little things annoyed me, due to it seeming...eh... unprofessional in what was supposed to be a finished game. Not that it bothered me enough to actually affect my playing the game. But it's something that people should catch on in the editing phase. It's the little things that polish a game and make it great after all.

Ah, thanks. That was interesting. I know that most Americanised spellings for words are just simplifications for the original English, but I wasn't aware that there was an alternate spelling for Archaeology. It's just really weird for me, as an actual Englishmen, to see all these alternative spellings. I never spell civilisation in the American fashion, since it reflects a harder pronunciation than what I use.

I'd like to voice my approval for such a feature as well. Would be great to advance all the automatic movement and then decide the rest of my units with that current location knowledge in hand.
How many planets with a population of 32b+ and a high approval did you have in TotA?
I can honestly say, that it's not that easy to achieve. Especially, if you also want to run a decent tax rate. Once your population reaches 25b, your base approval will be at 10%, which means, that your morale bonuses from planetary improvements and your racial ability will only be 10% as effective (e.g., a 100% bonus will now only apply 10%).
There are only two races in the game, that could realistically manage that, while still making money from those worlds: the Torians and the Yor. However, to do that, both need planets with a PQ (40+) that is unrealistic to find.
