First I would like to take the thank rjhughes67 for taking up this project. Nacey has had a lot of things on his plate and so he has not gotten around to Distant Stars lately. He says he will occasionally pop in with comments and ideas but his time is being taken up else where. I, Ryat, will continue to be forum moderator and master bug hunter for this project. And maybe the occasional change/addition.
Second I would like to thank Nacey, -Ue_Carbon, Draakjacht, Stant123 and Skyline (the originator of this mod) for all of their hard work on this project. Also give thanks to all the modders whose mod projects we used, abused and otherwise mutilated for our own mod.
And finally to our fans. Let's face it. Sins of a Solar Empire is a very moddable game and there are some excellent mods out there. We thank you for sticking with us.
And now without further ado the links.....
Most likely when Ryat has had the time to have a look at them they will be back.
Hey guys regarding the galaxy forge....
It seems like it's really vanilla in terms of planets etc...
Do I need to put in the mod folder or something? Does it even work anymore? Thanks!
It was recently updated and works just fine for me. Should be a straight download.
No readme file?
I understand that Ryat and got the right version but I can't place any of the new planets etc....for example "City" or "Industrial"
Do I need to do something to have all the planets in the mod?
It should all be there. I do know that you can just copy the GalSecDef file from the mod and paste over the one in Galaxy Forge. You just wont have the icons.
Humm interesting.
By chance can you provide me the path you used to install/paste the galaxy forge into? That'd probably simplify things for all involved haha.
I just unzipped it to the desktop. There should be no more to worry about.
Humm ok ill try that then.
I used 7 zip does that matter?
Its what I use.
Ya I just did what you said and there's still only the most basic planetary types :/.
I also copy and saved the galsecdef file over the one in the folder and now galaxy forge doesnt work at all lol....
Odd, I downloaded the latest Galaxy Forge for DS and it works just fine for me. Where did you get the download?
From the main page? Maybe I downloaded the wrong one?
https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/174739/page/1/#1581372
Top of the page?
I mean it only lists terran, volcanic and ice you know? ZERO nadda anything else....
And it won't run if I change anything. Left it on the desktop to boot....
Yes, its the wrong one. You are getting the base galaxy forge. The download link up top will help you get the right galaxy forge. The map pack is what has the galaxy forge.
Thanks!
LOL ok so............why is that when I save my map it doesn't appear in the galaxyforgemaps section in game???
put in
C:/MyDocuments/MyGames/IroncladGames/SinsofaSolarEmpire/GalaxyForge
Awesome got it all working thanks for the help!
Just curious though....you can't play all the addons together? like the pirates one with the one that adds three capital ships?
Also do the pirate bases in the maps you custom make need scripts to run for them to actually work? Mine just sit there (made two of them).
Don't know. Still debugging and updating the main. It shouldn't mess with it too much as Alliance doesn't touch pirates stuff if I recall.
Pirate AI is outside our control. We can sometimes trick it but no real control.
Ya I figured the pirates out.
Sorry for the 98379287 questions lol. In the core mod it list those three new capital ships one of them being the pheonix but when I played as the TEC the pheonix wasn't there? ??
Will look into it. When I get the chance. Still going through the base game and bringing it up to standard as we never really got into making changes with Rebellion. Will start going through the list that the group put together a while back and see what I can do but I will forward the issue to rjhughes67 is he already hasn't seen it.
As stated above in the op and at Ricks Galaxy these are Flagships, not new Capital Ships that can be built. So before you start a new game, you will need to go to the "Victory Options" menu and turn "Flagship Victory" to ON. Start game and like magic you will see your new bright and shiny Flagship waiting for you to take her out for some serious destruction and utter mayhem all over the unknowing galaxy.......!!!!!!!! YYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
Hope that helps.
