First I would like to take the thank rjhughes67 for taking up this project. Nacey has had a lot of things on his plate and so he has not gotten around to Distant Stars lately. He says he will occasionally pop in with comments and ideas but his time is being taken up else where. I, Ryat, will continue to be forum moderator and master bug hunter for this project. And maybe the occasional change/addition.
Second I would like to thank Nacey, -Ue_Carbon, Draakjacht, Stant123 and Skyline (the originator of this mod) for all of their hard work on this project. Also give thanks to all the modders whose mod projects we used, abused and otherwise mutilated for our own mod.
And finally to our fans. Let's face it. Sins of a Solar Empire is a very moddable game and there are some excellent mods out there. We thank you for sticking with us.

Don't know. I've never had the game crash on my end but I've had the chug chug at the tail end from time to time.
I have 8 gigs of ram I suspect that's why.
Been meaning to bump up to 32.
Your RAM increase wouldn't help. LAA allows for a more efficient RAM usage but there is still a limit for the game and 8 GB goes past that limit.
Any ideas on why I'm crashing?
The only time I ever crash is when I am modding and do something wrong. I run just fine on 8 GB myself aside from slowdown though I don't use LAA. From what I understand, the devs won't incorporate LAA because it can cause a system crash on some systems though most I talk to never seem to have an issue. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

What order do you have the mod and add-on's in????
NO !!!! (this was made to only work in the exact order in which it was asked for and CANNOT !! be used in any other combinations of add-on's or will cause a crash !!!!!!!!)
AS far as your crash I'm gonna guess that you are trying to use that "No Super Weapon Pirate" Add-on in some other combination which will NOT work because it was made for something specific. I appologize for posting the download publicly and have removed it so there will be no further problems with this..... If it's not related to your crash problem then please let me know what mod and add-on's and in which order you are having the crash.......Thanks.
I see well I was running it as follows
1. DS-SoundMod
2. DS-NSW(Pirate)
3. DS-PowerfulPirates
4. DS-CoreMod
However I will take it off and run the other three and play later today.
Hughes I have them in the correct order every time.
The game doesn't crash. It simply stops. I literally have to turn my PC off.
Like I said I dont get a mini dump it just puts me on my desktop like nothing happened.
I don't even get that. My whole cpu just stops functioning. Dead screen with no movement. When I crtl alt del to get task manager then it goes black. I usING an invidia 970. No idea why it does this.

I just downloaded the mod. I am new to Sins. I checked in to the research trees for TEC and found that the Novalith takes a lot of prerequired researches along with so many labs before it can be constructed. While Vasari just need 8 labs.
Will it not exploit Vasari to go straight Kostura and wreack havoc considering the highly attuned sensors is also there? I just wanted to understand how it is balanced.

We didn't change the pathways for the superweapons that I can recall. That's stock Sins.
Hi.
Before, to get Novalith by TEC, it required only one point in extended range missiles and extended range missiles just required only one point of the research before that.
But now, the Novalith requires 6 points in Extended range missiles and it requires 4 full points in the earlier research.
But the Vasari Kostura only needed 8 labs to get it before and after. So, by upgrading the research paths the TEC will get Novalith very very long time than Vasari.
Vasari still need 8 labs before and after. The double research time increased the build time for TEC but Vasari remains unaffected.
Okay, now I recall the change. Too many to keep track of, LOL. I think that was because (at the time) the Novalith cannon was that much more powerful than the Kostura (it's been since improved) so it may be a good time to look it over again.
Ryat, Let me know if you want any changes as I'm working on the new release.
