First I would like to take the thank rjhughes67 for taking up this project. Nacey has had a lot of things on his plate and so he has not gotten around to Distant Stars lately. He says he will occasionally pop in with comments and ideas but his time is being taken up else where. I, Ryat, will continue to be forum moderator and master bug hunter for this project. And maybe the occasional change/addition.
Second I would like to thank Nacey, -Ue_Carbon, Draakjacht, Stant123 and Skyline (the originator of this mod) for all of their hard work on this project. Also give thanks to all the modders whose mod projects we used, abused and otherwise mutilated for our own mod.
And finally to our fans. Let's face it. Sins of a Solar Empire is a very moddable game and there are some excellent mods out there. We thank you for sticking with us.

Have you guys considered using some tracks from the recently-released Planetary Annihilation soundtrack? It has a lot of great music in it, and if you want I could throw an archive of it up on my Mediafire for you guys to check out.
We actually have plenty of music. A large portion of the mod is music actually. But if you want to add in your own you are free to do so.

I must say I love the choice of music. I recognised the most obvious ones like Band of Brothers but a few had me puzzled. I was thinking they were from Crimson Tide or The Rock, after checking with AudioTag turned out to be Revenge of the Fallen. Oh well great stuff and sounds awesome.

I keep crashing to desktop
huge multi random 8 players 40 minutes in and it crashes. If I save before the crash its starts right back up, but I keep having to save, it typically happens when I forget to save. There is no error message it just CTD.
1. Are you playing the most current version ?
2. Are you using any DS-Add-On's ?
3. If yes, then in which order are they ?
4. Are you from earth ?
5. What is your checksum number ?
6. What are your game settings on ?

I am currently playing a game with the DS-AHA2 AddOn, on a huge random map against 6 AI and am over 3 hours in and no problems so far.

I was running 7 AIs so I will try 6 and see if it helps. I didn't ever get 3 hours in without a crash.
Ive added it to the game, myself. but I also have 1.5+GB of music total for the mod tied into the game.
As Ryat alluded to, I had to limit the music addtions so you didnt have to download GBs of music each time.
Well, you guys could always make a purely optional music addon.
I think something's wrong with the TEC Rebel AI, it's not building any ships except a protev colony frigate and it won't advance beyond colonizing a few planets.
Unfortunately that's an AI problem which is something we can't touch. Play around with the AI options and see what works best or turn it up a level is the best advice I could give.
I did that back in the DS Diplomacy 0.7/0.8 days after a few conversations with a small core group of "multiplayer testers" expressed interest in Carbon's full music library. Only a few people downloaded the very much, greatly expanded (but not full library as I never got the full thing) music add on. I believe it was just shy of 1gb. I eventually got rid of it to free up (IMO, wasted) funds, since places willing to host files of that size generally cost more then what I'm willing to maintain for only a few people.
But.... Others think differently then me, so really it comes down to demand. If there's enough to justify the effort, it'll happen one way or another.
I'm not sure if this is a bug, but it seems that all factions now have phase missiles in the current version. A friend and I noticed that most weapon attacks were almost completely ignoring shields. Once we had the last Advent pact that makes shields stop phase missiles, the problem went away.
This was in multiplayer, at unfair/cruel difficulty.
Researching that right now. I do know that there is an event that can cause this but just in case its not that I am checking it.

Hey, just got back into sins after a long time and of course updated my fav mod. Only thing is, I remember there use to be altered TEC lasers to be beams instead of 'bolts'. Was that ever a part of DS or was it another mod, and if so which was it and is it still being updated?

Is there any kind of documentation or list of changes or ships or tech trees I can glance over, or is in-game the onl way?

Research was increased.Planets were added.Capital Ships were buffed.Weapons graphics were improved.Pirates were made more dangerous (still being balanced, still a bit underwhelming).Strike Craft types was increased.Music selection has been improved.Planets have bonuses. (still working out the new ones added by the Forbbiden Worlds DLC)
And more, I think. There is a lot.
