I really like that little medallion down there below my name. Looks sharp.
The only way out of that kind of dog house is to name your wife after a 'different' star
Star of Josephine
What to name the star, don't think it will be after someone wonder when the name will need to be decided by.
I'd suggest people to think more than one option just in case. Not just because of filters but because sometimes, someone else may end up with the same choice for some kind of unforeseeable reason. I'll be epicly baffled if someone actually managed to pick the same name as me but you never know...
What I really wonder, do they give a second chance if the first suggestion doesn't pass? I mean is the system going to be automated, or does someone just receive a lot of email and decide which one is good and which one isn't?
I asked the misses if she wanted a star to be named after her, she was not interested..
So I am naming it after our cat..either Kebuyi or JangJang… I don't think Mista Poogey would make the cut.
Despite I did get Elite Founder, I don't think I will name a star. For some reason I don't think I can come up with one that would sound good and make Stardock happy at the same time .
You already made Stardock happy by buying the elite founder package
If your name gets rejected, you'll likely just have to resubmit it.
However if you 'abuse' the resubmission process, you might lose the right to name your star. If you make an innocent mistake that's ok. If you try to pass HiterXKondomz by adding numbers at the end.... yeah probably not.
It's probably a good idea to try an adhere to the Xbox Gamertag rules which encompass a lot of 'common sense' things. Though you'd be shocked at how many people try to do incredibly stupid things.

Yea, so Juankoski is okay then You can find it from Wikipedia, even the English one. The guy in the end (Juice) sang "Juankoski, here I come". Can't get rid of that song ringing in my head.
I typed www.galciv.com and ended up here.
Does that mean that the original GalCiv site is no longer accessible?
I never played the original game myself but I thought there was still at least a little traffic there.
Oh well. Hopefully this site will match that of the GalCiv2 community in its heyday.
No, it's still active. www.galciv1.com
Yay, I've just bought GalCiv III, so another happy owner here I think Stardock needs a bit more noise about the game, I've been a huge fan of both GalCiv 2/3 for years (still playing GC2 Ultimate) and I found out they were working on GC3 by mere chance
Mainly playing GC2 and Civ5 for the time being, but I'm curious about Distant Worlds, looks huge and complex, just how I like them, I'd rather play one hugely complex map/scenario for, say, 2 weeks rather than a simple one a day, so much more rewarding...
Does anyone remember Imperium Galactica? Now, I'd love to see that one reincarnated
Already taken care of on a Dutch forum.
Check my posts, most have references to Imperium Galactica II
I see. The only thing that changed is the use of www.galciv.com to go here as opposed go to a selection between GalCiv1 and GalCiv2.
OH oh oh!!!!
What about a star named Leroooooooy Jenkins!!! (Yes with seven ohs and three exclamation points.)
Hey Mumble! Good to see you in the new forums!
Pony Lando anybody?
Oh, what about a star named Pun, it would either be a punishment or very punny to name a star Pun in honor of all bad jokes.
My star would be Incertyornameheer
It brings back great memories to see people like Lucky Jack and Mumblefratz again. Of course it may have been me who's been away from the forums
Yea, I couldn't help but fork over the money for the elite-version either.... I've managed to have a ton of fun with GC2, wasted a TON of time too
Honestly, I think GC3 is going to be eptic, guess we'll wait and see.... Still, doing the math, I think if I were to buy the base game and all expansions (at least 2 or 3) on release day at full price, the elite version might be cheaper in the long run. Wondering if we'll get some other bonus stuff too.... maybe I'm just hoping. In any case, I think money well spent.
Still having trouble coming up with the name for a star
is some sort of system, preventing duplicates going to be in place? Although I can see it now: "epic star name" is already taken, perhaps you'd like to use: "epic star name 74623", "epiz starz namz" or "star name epic"
I'm a tad concerned actually about the 'naming' rights the moer I think about it.
One would 'hope' that people would not spend $100 to purposely troll the naming system, but Greenlight showed that even $100 is not a barrier to some people with certain mental deficiencies.
Also being an American company (I'm referring this as a purely cultural reference, not to the stereotype that American are 'stupid') it will be hard to filter out foriegn names/words/places that would be immediately offensive to people of other cultures, but would seem ok in English. Even in English, you can have quite a few minefields. Port Arthur 'sounds' kinda ok, until you talk to an Australian. Or any number of other things.
I just hope there aren't any bad apples trying to wiggle their way into the naming rights system.
Maybe if a list was released fo all the approved names? Then the community could give it a once over? Dunno. Just thinking out loud.
im curious if the e-mails or w/e system their using to submit star names have gone out yet just realized that the e-mail acct i have linked has been inactive
I haven't seen anything, I think it will be a while before the system goes out.
You should probably contact stardock support about your e-mail; or maybe you can change it logged into the website, I don't know.
Just go to stardock.com and log in. then change your account settings so that your email is updated.
