Will GalCiv3 be coming to Steam Access? And regardless of this will those who pre-purchase it now get a steam key in the future?
There's no keys available now. You will receive one when the beta launches.
So when it happens?
Win 8 is just fine with Start8.
Ah, thanks for the answer! - That probably means that GalCiv II was my last GalCiv since I dont like Steam or any other platform like that.
So does this mean vista 64 will not run the game?? I really don't understand why people hate vista,, sure when it launched it was not that great, but for me it has been a very solid OS.. In fact i can't count the number of times, even as recent as a few months ago, that people post about issues with win 7 and 8.. yet my old vista OS has no issues what so ever.. Petrsonaly i think a bad launch, and now it is Lore that Vista sucks.. when really it is as solid as win 2k, IMO.. It is just missing some fluff, that i would never use anyway.
I have 64 bits, i have 4 gigs of ram, and a DX11 card..
well the game use multiple cores? I do have a duo-core.. are you planing on using more than one, more than two or four?
Win7 Is Vista with some cosmetic improvments. So i think it will work.
Vista has DX10 by default and it is 64bit, so you should be just fine with it It is probably not listed as it is a rather obscure system now, very few people use it.

I've waited....hmm...I cannot remember how long, for GCIII, and now to find out it will REQUIRE DX 10/11 and 64x, right as I think about migrating to a linux system on an ancient PC that barely runs GCIIUE?
When more information has arrived we can, as a community, work to configure the least expensive PC for our members. There must be a lot of us that build systems semi-professionally and professionally. I live and breath Newegg, Amazon and Tiger Direct. So we might be able to take some of the sting out of upgrading or building a new gaming rig. If you give yourself 6 months to a year to collect the parts you can really save a lot of money.
I understand your feelings because I felt that Brood War had a much larger community than Starcraft II because it could run on practically anything. That being said, moving on to 64 bit is the right move for the game and the company's future. It's the same story for Sins. It has to evolve to survive.
Happy Gal Civ to you sir and may all your research techs finish early.
backs out of the room slowly...
well you will get no argument from me there, few people do use vista. It really is a stripped down, 64 bit OS, that runs things pretty darn nice. win 7 launched so soon after, i guess most use that. win 7, was kinda the vista patch anyways, that is good to know that it will most likely work.
Anyone seen mention about how many cores the game will use?
FYI, is there an official GCIII forums someplace?
