WARHAMMER 40K: TIME OF ENDING is a Sins Of The Solar Empires mod based on warhammer 40k universe. Command mighty space vessels of Imperial Navy to crush enemies of the Emperor , or take control of many aliens and heretics who oppose mankind. Destroy your enemies , and be the only one left in Time Of Ending!
Please note! This mod is completely unofficial and in no way endorsed by Games Workshop Limited! Gameplay and information may not represent accurately the universe of warhammer 40k.Also many of the features of space battles based on warhammer 40k are not done the way , they supposed to be in this mod, but it will try to do its best.
Now lets get you a fleet to command!
First of all. This mod will try to get perfect balance between fluff and tabletop game. So expect races like Orks launching waves of ships , while Eldars will only get there first Battleship.
Many of original SINS core game mechanics are changed:
Limited Ammunition!
Ships require crew and/or ammunition to operate in battle conditions. Because of that antimatter is so much more important right now. You will need to take care of your big ships or they will become an easy target.
Static defense is vital!
Defense now can really make your opponent think twice before attacking you! Well defended planet will require a fleet to take it! But they have there weaknesses
Different play styles!
I never liked that all original SINS races where exactly the same with just couple shield/armor/damage differences and different titans. Here all races have different play styles
Every ship is important!
Prices for space ships are much higher. And having a 40 vs 40 ships fight is a huge engagement already
Races:
Imperial Navy( Defensive race-best economy and defense)
Chaos (Offensive race-good at fighting , gets recourses while doing so)
Orks (Green race-there goal is to start Waaagh!)
Eldar (Ability race-slowest to develop, but can use there powerful abilities to survive)

I'm planning on doing all races one way or another! See plans section. You can also see there when I would like to add specific race or feature.
Also , I will not include all known space ships / stations in this mod. If I will , Imperial Navy will take forever to create , they have like 50+ known space ships. Space Marines and Adeptus Mechanicus vessels will most probably be independent race. So don't expect to see them in Imperial Navy army.
This mode can take a while. I really want to achieve quality , not quantity. And I remodeled Dictator class cruiser 2 times before getting the final version that you will see.
I will create a post every Monday to keep you guys updated on how the mod doing. It will contain information about what I added during this weak , progress , some screenshots , and sometimes even questions to you!

Alpha 1.0-Please notice. Alpha release contain bare minimum of stuff in it. Speaking of dying TC's, what happened to Sins of the Inner Sphere?
Still chugging, but it's pretty just me working on it. We all got so caught up with initial little nooby progress, so making a Mod DB page for it ending up being us jumping the gun. It'll still happen, but it's essentially just me working on it.
Doshka 19 , no worries. This mod will not. Especially when games-workshop stopped producing bfg miniatures. Expect a big update next monday.

I know almost nothing about Warhammer 40k, but nice models, way better than the battlefleet goth mod had back in Entrenchment.
That said, I still think some of the 40k ships look like overgrown little kid bath toys with those blocky turrets.

Little confused where the gods of chaos things come about but thanks, that was fun.
they're just kinda there. Rivals in the immaterial universe that feed on souls and whatnot in various different ways. Sometimes they manage to put their differences aside and pillage the universe in whats known as a Black Crusade, which prolly would consume the universe if they didnt always fall apart and their minions end up attacking eachother again.
The only thing that everybody need to know about 40k , is that there is now good guys in this universe(exept for Tau). Every race done some thing horrible and humans (Imperium) are not exception.
If you know Lord of the Rings, Warhammer Fantasy, and Warcraft. Then you get the general idea about Warhammer 40k (all ripped off from tolkin). Only major difference is the Warhammer 40k universe is set in space.
There are no "Good Guys" in 40k. In the grim darkness of the far future. There is only WAR.
Humans are the Imperium of Man. Rulers of the galaxy. A Dysotopic, and Theocratic Empire that been in decline for 10,000 years. Beset on all sides by enemy's.
The Forces of Chaos.. Picture "mordor", Arthus, hell, sorcery, demons, fire, brimstone, yada yada. Mostly Humans (Though Eldar, and other races have been known to have Chaotic counterparts) who now worship one, or all of the Dark Gods of Chaos. When life hands you lemons... BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!! Someone pass the Khorne Flakes.
Eldar.. Angry Space Elves... Angry because they used to be the supreme race of the galaxy, but they awakened the gods of chaos, and got bitch slapped in the process. Now they are but a shadow of their former selves. Like space refugees. Despite being damn near extinct they can still whoop some ass.
Orks.. Well they are Orcs.. Same old green skinned brutes. Except they can fly Starships now! They care nothing for the affairs of others. They are just looking ofr a good fight (or Waaagh!!).
Tau aren't necessarily that good either, for them it's Greater Good or Go Home
I loved the old Dawn of War RTS game and it's expansions. Didn't care for Dawn of War II though.
Same here Zombie, only thing good that came out of DOW2 was the tie in to Space Marine, and Last Stand.
Titanium Wars and Ultimate Apocalypse mods are making the original dawn of war still worth playing today
DoW2 i relate to the old "Hero Hammer" games. Where the troops were all but worthless, and the game was fought with almost nothing but "Heroes". It was still a good game. Though i do like DoW1 better too. Space Marine got old real quick. There was only so much walkity walkity walk. Dakka Dakka Dak i could handle.
Space marine was probably one of the worst games of that genre I have ever played. It's a far cry from the absolute worst titles, but it's very clear it was specifically made just to quickly cash in on the warhammer name and for utterly no other reason.
I did some work with the Dawn of Skirmish project for DoW1 and dabbled a bit in my own scripts with it. Decent game for what it was.
I liked Space Marine .____.
It had some really good ideas , but it was relic first shooter .We all need to remember that.

This looks very promising. I'm a big WH40k fan and would love to see a full Sins mod. I was tempted to start my own WH40k mod but I'm currently very committed to my Dark Space mod.
The limited crew/ammo is very similar to my limited tactical weapons (replaces anti-matter), the only problem is the AI's ability to re-arm. Are you planning to have anti-matter regenerate but just very slowly? I'd be interested to see how you sort this out because it would help me with my mod.
I think the unique gameplay aspect of the WH40k universe would be very important to a mod. When I was considering making my own I came up with the idea of having a few huge gravity wells that would represent the Warp. When leaving a star system ships would travel instantly to the Warp gravity well but then have to navigate the dangerous currents to find their final destination. I think it's a great idea and would really give a different feel to the game. You could add abilities to the Warp gravity well which could have a random chance of affecting ships, thus making Warp travel very unpredictable and dangerous. I'd be happy to help you with a Galaxy map that puts my idea into practice if you're interested?

That's good idea.If could be used when traveling between systems it would be greate!Like a gravity well that has all this fancy warp effects that acts like a system to system jump point!And then there is only two routes: going back or going to to the star of solar system(but now star's gravity well is just another place for battlefield).
So that's the old way of traveling: System A->Star A Gravity well->Star B Gravity well->System B
New way of traveling: System A->Star A Gravity well->Warp A Gravity well ->Warp B Gravity well ->Star B Gravity well->System B

My answer is yes any way.But you will need to wait for planet update , or you will have to reupdate you maps couple times.
P.S.Hope it's possible to do.The only problem a expect is that game will still believe that warp gravity well is a star And we will see warp shining
Well even if you could do this, you'd have to remove all random maps from the game and populate with just premade maps, which would be time consuming and possibly get stale for your players.
Only problem I see with the Warp thing is that the Eldar don't use warp travel they use the Webway.
I still think it will work and would give the game a WH40k feel. The eldar web way could be sorted by only giving them the phase node stabiliser tech and the ability to travel wormholes. The web way portals could then be setup on certain planets.
The random maps could stay for variety but have the main map with the warp gravity wells. Besides I'm sure most of the wh40k fans would want to play on a map that has Holy Terra, Mars, Ultimar etc. and the random maps wouldn't provide this. Some smaller scenario based maps could be added for gameplay variety but the main focus would be on a huge Milky Way map. This is what I've done with my mod and it does work.
Eldars will be the most mobile race in the game(like Dark Eldars i think).I planed that they gonna be the only race that have phase node stabiliser + there scouts will be able to create phase stabilise node and even more , they will have access to a structure that will work like vasari cannon , but will only create phase stabilise node where it shoots.Yet Eldars are a far to go , lots of plans can be changed.
