It is a mod for sins of a solar empire rebellion that transforms the game into a star trek game.
The goal of this mod is to create a Star trek environment similar to the game star trek armada 2 featuring many of the same ships and factions.
What factions will there be?
At launch 4 factions will be available:
-United Federation of Planets
-Klingon Empire
-Romulan Star Empire
-Borg Collective
How accurate (canon) will the mod be?
Accuracy is a funny thing in Star trek, it tends to change after a few episodes, as a ship took 10 phaser blast in one it might be destroyed by a single one in the next season. That is why I have chosen to try to remain canon AS LONG as it doesn't interfere with gameplay and fun.
I want this mod to be fun to play and not be weirdly balanced that it may be accurate but unplayable.

Following a series of game breaking bugs found in late April, the mod has been entirely re-built from the ground up and progress is coming on well.
The game will include the four races mentioned above in the initial release, but a patch will follow including the Dominion as a playable race. As things stand, Both the Federation and the Klingon Empire Are close to completion, with only the research tree and some ship abilities to complete. The Romulans and the Borg are in mid-development at the minute. Check out our Pictures on Moddb on the link below!

I love this mod.
But is there any chance to get rid of the Borg for the "Random" button?
Its nice to set up a game with 2 or 3 in a team against one borg.
But most of the time i like to play random games. But if some borg are joining i can restart because the KI will not attack them first.
Would be nice if i can delete them from the "random" faction selection so i dont have to select every faction for my game if i dont want borg in a fast match. If i want borg i have to select every single faction anyway.

Thanks for making a great mod, i am having loads of fun with it.
Unfortunately i have a problem. After accepting a sins automatic update yesterday (21st March) the game keeps crashing shortly after loading it up. In game, where there should be explosions/effects, there are big squares that grow bigger and fade out. The crash follows shortly after this. I have tried to unload the mod but when i select the disable mod button, it crashes again.
I have a dmp file but don't know how to attach it.

You need to reapply Large Address Aware after every update, just like you did the first time you installed the mod.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I ran the large address aware program and while it is better, i am still getting the graphical square artifacts and the game crashed after about 20 min.
I will try to reload the mod to see if that helps.

Ok fixed.
My fault. I should have gone back to the instructions and started from the beginning.
I have an unusual bug for y'all. I am playing as the Federation with 3 npc AI's on a Medium Random map. Game settings are pretty simple, Capital Victory is on, nothing else. I have the 3 AI's set as Team 2 on Legendary Difficulty.
At the beginning everything is going smoothly and as predicted the pirates have tried to gang rape me while I try to build up defenses for the onslaught I know is coming from the Ai's. 2 Hours into the game I realized other than a scout here and there I have not been attacked by anything but pirates. I sent out a bunch of scouts myself and found a massive fleet from all three of the AI's sitting in the next system over from my capital.
Nothing I do can get them to attack. It's like they are on vacation or just having a picnic over there.
Having the Promethus perform it's MVAE role is impossible within the engine. The hardcoding prevents it from splitting into 3 seperate units. That's why you don't see the Galaxy go splitting around either.Tholians and Undine have barely enough info on their fleets to determine a full roster.
Yeah not possible in the engine, roflmao. I love those old naive comments from people who have no idea about programming, modding and engines. We now have the Galaxy class splitting and even docking back together. We now got tholians and undine as side factions (can have neutral planets and some of the random events have their ships, too). And the MVAE would be possible, but pretty unbalanced as the excalibur wouldn't be a viable choice as your titan anymore. I'm glad the creators never stopped believing in the project. I hope to see a Star Trek mod from them when SoaSE 2 comes out in a few years. Imagine what they could do without the 32bit limitation in a 64bit engine and with real multicore support!
