Title says it all. Game starts fine, but in 1024x768. Any attempted change in resolution crashes the game. This is the steam version, and I recently purchased the new DLC pack. I was not having this issue prior.
Using the GeForce GTX 285 with the 320.18 drivers on a core i7 920 with 12gb of ram running windows 8.
Couldn't figure out how to attach the minidump, so I have it hosted here:
http://boxedtool.com/Sins-Rebellion%20v1.5-2013-06-05-18-11-26-52252-60368.dmp (43.6mb)
Any assistance appreciated!
[SOLVED]
After _A LOT_ of dicking around playing with different drivers and configurations, I found that much to my surprise steam (which has been receiving a whole lot of patches this week) was actually what was causing the problem.
1. Locate Sins: Rebellion in your library list
2. Right click on the entry, select properties
3. Uncheck "enable steam community in-game"
4. click close
After this, changing video settings worked flawlessly. If you're having video issues, this is definitely something to try since steam likes to be able to write directly to the screen while games are open.
You might try manually changing the resolution in your user.rebellion.settings file (its in the settings folder in the same directory as your save games and mod folder, you can open it in notepad).
I actually nuked everything where the settings were stored to reset it to its defaults, and performed a completely clean installation of the game. It now defaults to the highest non-windowed resolution (which is desirable) but the game still crashes on a resolution change. Given that this is a completely clean installation with no mods at all, I'm thinking this is some kind of game related bug.
