This is a TBS game that, per the developer, is 'It's kinda like if you took Jagged Alliance's combat and crammed it into King's Bounty'.

The game seems to focus more on tactics, but there is a strategy layer there as well. I liked what I saw for the most part; there are some issues with the UI that kind of bother me while getting the quests and backstory, as well as difficulty finding out where I need to go to begin the next quest, but right now those are moderate concerns for me. I really enjoy the gameplay.
Some may have issues with the historical period and the accuracy of the game, but in my brief time with it, it was very enjoyable.
It is available on Steam, Gamersgate, Desura, GMG and GOG currently (if you are interested and all other things are equal, consider buying it from GMG; per the developer, they get a larger percentage of the sales from GMG compared to the other distribution platforms).
Heh, I posted this too. : )
Sorry BP . I didn't see your post.
In edit-Your post was better than mine as well .
This looks pretty fun, think I might give it a go
Wow, maaan!!!
This game is hot. So hot my keyboard is smoldering and I have blisters on my fingers. I just love it, and only £13 on GoG as well. Thanks for the heads up. Both of you.
I do like buying games from GMG, but this one is a lot cheaper on GoG. Looks good!
I played through once. The second part of the game is sort of disappointing in that the exploring doesn't feel like exploring. You don't really follow clues or signs of civilization, just follow the roads. A few things sure, but mostly not. As well I found that I was having to repeatedly click in various places to find where I could go and where was blocked off. As well there are things you can come upon, but you can not activate because you hadn't found the proper quest initiator. What's the point of exploring if you can't explore places you come upon? However it is still an enjoyable game. It lacks a lot of things, but for the price and that I can see myself getting a second play through out of it its worth it. I would suggest after you finish the first part that you increase the difficulty of the AI for battles. It becomes too easy otherwise.
