Sweet mother of all that is skinnable!
Windows 8 looks GOOD!
Looks great! Will skins we already have work with it or does each skin need to be updated? Thanks!!!
Where do I download it..
Existing skins should work.

When I go to my stardock account there is nothing listed to download. There was an update for windowblinds 7.4 but nothing else.
Thanks!
WindowBlinds 8 is available to Object Desktop subscribers only at this time.
I must say I am entirely impressed! All my Windows 7 WB's work great on Windows 8 and SkinStudio7 works in Windows 8 too! Only thing I see in Windows 8 that may need looked at is the explorer window menus (File, Edit, Etc.) are white in the background with no apparent way to change them. Might add that to the list Neil if it isn't there already. Fantastic job Stardock, well worth the wait!
Login to your Stardock Account and go to My Downloads. You have to have a Object Desktop subscription to download it right now.
WOWSER!!
Is object desktop different than desktopX? I purchased desktopx3 run-time client years ago but it never worked right and have never been able to update it.
Are the programs different? And how is it that I got desktopX? I don't see a download for that specific program. Granted my eyes aren't what they once were
Object Desktop is the suite of Stardock's desktop enhancements. If you only purchased DesktopX then you don't have the full package.

Okay thanks
I'm drooling over here. Thank you Stardock. you have made my day!
I copied all of my skins from my backup folder to the new windowblinds folder and they don't show up. Any ideas? Thanks.
You need to use the rebuild list option in WB. Click the icon at the top left to access the menu.
Thanks! That worked.
Thank you STARDOCK!! I have been waiting for this. After I installed it someone ask me why my Windows 8 looked better than the one they had at home. I just smiled.....
It was too late for me. I've paid my last subscription with Stardock. I jumped on an OD subscription after receiving a promotional email back in November, that -- at a first glance -- seemed to promise WB for Windows 8. Lots of people here seem to have done the same thing. When it turned out that just about the only piece of functionality that actually worked with Windows 8, was Start8 there was no apology, no refund, just "it'll come when it comes, you should have read the fine print". There were new posts in the forum on this theme almost every day, many of them removed. I essentially missed out on 60% of my subscription period, so I feel ripped off, cheated and badly treated. Stardock really missed the train.
Stardock didn't miss any train. You simply failed to get all available information before purchasing.
There has been plenty of value and functionality in ODNT since November, even for Win 8 adopters. Stardock introduced some great enhancements for the new OS. Just because you didn't get the one thing you wanted, all the rest meant nothing to you. Now you finally get what you were demanding at the time, WindowBlinds for Windows 8 and yet, you still find reason to be a malcontent. No train here, but the waaamubulance is waiting.
Ok, right. That's exactly what I would say if I was a paid Stardock evangelist. A lot of people here speak that way. Normal people who are not paid evangelists would ignore a rant, or agreed, As countless regular (non-groupies/evangelists) did.
It seems to be a complete shock to everyone here that normal consumers get angry if they feel they are not getting what they paid for, and not getting good customer service.I normally don't whinge about stuff I but my experience with Stardock has been on a downhill slope since my initial good experience back in 2006 or about then.
I'm having constant license trouble with Stardock products, and then the 8 month wait for a beta version of Windowblinds with no offer for a refund after I politely raised my complaints. Since Stardock obviously doesn't care much about keeping me as a customer I won't be troubling it with my tiresome business once my subscription expires.
Wizard is neither normal or a paid Stardock evangelist. Just saying....
First and foremost, I am not paid by or represent Stardock in any way shape or form. Opinions expressed are soley my own.
You expressed your opinion about Stardock, I am also entitled to mine, plain and simple.
Secondly, I find most people to be a very poor judge of what "normal" is for me or anyone else for that matter. Your claim that you are a "normal consumer" and"normally don't whinge" tells me your standards for normal are far from mine. You would therefore be far down the list for such an evaluation.
You got what you paid for when you renewed, you just didn't get what you expected, based on your own failure to investigate all the details which is NOT the same thing. I suspect your "constant license trouble with Stardock products" stems from your same lack of attention to details.
Now, if only the beta could run for the remaining 40%
