Children of Storm
A high fantasy mod pack for Fallen Enchantress: Legendary heroes by Heavenfall, with help from EviliroN and jeffqyzt2. Players are advised to not play with the Rivermod on Huge maps, as the game may have issues with memory then. If you are having issues with world resources, such as iron ore, not appearing in your game - delete the Rivermod folder and start a new game. This only affects a small number of players for unknown reasons.

I don't think the current version of the patchwork mod takes all of the Background Unit Stats into account, so likely what you'd end up with is items/effects not working as intended.
That said, I believe webusver has made some indications that he's at least looking at providing a CoS compatible version - although I have no idea if he's intending to apply all of the many balance changes from patchwork into that (it would be a lot of work as CoS adds numerous units, factions, items, etc.) Probably better to ask in that thread, as Heavenfall has previously stated that he's more or less done with this mod, other than providing version updates when Stardock increments LH itself.

Ok then. Webusver just stated that he would probably add compatibility for this mod sometime this week so I'll wait for that.
I've got something of an annoyance(and maybe a bug?)
Some traits have very confusing explanations like this:(text is as follows:+10 Attack vs Dragons, +10 Attack vs Dragons unless user is Dragon, -10 Attack vs Dragons)
This could mean anything from -10 Attack vs Dragons to + 20 Attack vs Dragons
I checked the CoreAbilities.xml and it seems fine for that particular ability
Found an edited version of the ability in vs_UnitType_Overwrite.xml:
So it seems its working but the explanation is very confusing. Could I maybe erase some of the text or something and still keep the functionality of the ability?
If it really bugs you... maybe maybe edit that xml you posted (from vs_UnitType_Overwrite.xml)... change...

to
<Provides>(unless user is Dragon)</Provides>
and then
<Provides>-10 Attack vs Dragons</Provides>

That one bothers me as well, but there it is.
First the ability says
before I add my own stuff. Unfortunately, I can only add text, not remove existing text. So first I need to nullify the original bonus
-10 Attack vs Dragons
ie it does nothing. Then I add my own bonus
+10 Attack vs Dragons unless user is Dragon
That's the best I could do given the access available. You'll notice the same issue with the Hunter sovereign background as well, and other various similar traits.
But all that is just the descriptions, right?
The numbers themselves are not affected no matter what you would write in the <Provides> </Provides> section?

Finally, I get to play this mod on a 64-bit machine with 8 GB RAM. Oh, the power!
Thats my specs. It still turns a bit sluggish towards the late game on the bigger maps . Its probably not utilizing all my CPU cores.

Regarding the Angels Glamour trait and the Gnomes Rude, I don't think it works. I've been doing a bunch of testing on diplomacy stuff and I'm fairly sure that A_Diplomacy doesn't work as a Player AbilityBonus.
I could be wrong... but seems if you put it on a Sov trait like the Diplomat champion history it seems to work fine, just not as a faction trait unfortunately. Not sure why.

What is the blank square that takes 1x turn to build in the building menu?
That's a bug. Do you have any other mods installed? If not, which modules did you choose from the Children of Storm zip?
I play with all of patchwork compatible mods. I don't use your "remove vanilla faction" mod (a lot of factions).
Also missing the centaur base in the market (I play undead)
I can live with the minor bugs
Regarding Glamour and Rude, maybe Derek could work out why they are not working as Player bonuses? He might be able to fix the issue.
The centaur base are only available for purchase for the centaur faction.
I had a quick look and the blank improvement is not caused by this mod, so it has to be from patchwork then.

You know that's funny, because with my custom undead (DLC Undead) Sovereign I can buy the centaur bases. I can second that blank improvement, as I also have patchwork installed. I'm here mainly to report that when I recruited Hazaz, a Drota champion, he had no Drota base. I believe the same thing happened to me ages ago in the original Stormwind. Drove me nuts lol! Seems there are more kinks to work out with when it comes to CotS and Pathcwork compatibility.
(My edit is to point out that I said Stormwind instead of Stormworld LOL! I blame Blizzard...)

This adds three centaur bases for everybody. If I delete this then centaurs will not be able to buy themselves ... new bases. Is it bad?
I honestly can't remember, so long since I worked on this. I'll have a look for next release.
Nublet here who can't read English - except for when it's convenient:"unit designs and stuff" (so helpful, I am~) when using compatibility mod (Patchwork + CoS) -- uh, do I have to make them from scratch for every empire or will the AI figure their shit out by themselves or have I blundered some integral files/screwed up the installation process or wut? I am out of the loop and have nfi what I'm doing.
Not sure, you'll have to ask the creator of patchwork.
Do you think the Dead should be disabled as well for this mod?
