Children of Storm
A high fantasy mod pack for Fallen Enchantress: Legendary heroes by Heavenfall, with help from EviliroN and jeffqyzt2. Players are advised to not play with the Rivermod on Huge maps, as the game may have issues with memory then. If you are having issues with world resources, such as iron ore, not appearing in your game - delete the Rivermod folder and start a new game. This only affects a small number of players for unknown reasons.

I have those DLC what would happen if I use your mod with them?
Units and champs from those DLC packs might not "count" as the appropriate things.
By that do you mean the old bug, where one window tells you that you are looting one thing, and you actually end up getting another?

Guys I have big problem with this great mod. Yesterday I started playing again LH after 2 months break. So i downloaded fresh CoS 1.5a version and everything worked fine for me. Today I wanted to start a new map, created new sov (based on undead) and try on huge map. The game crashed immediately the moment I tried to save the game. I tried playing on smaller maps, with basic sovereigns. It always crashed the moment I tried to save the game...Out of memory error.
So i reinstalled whole game. Applied clean Childred of the Storm mod, and this crash keeps happening. When I try to play without CoS everything works fine :/

Is everyone having troubles on huge maps? Guess the mod just doesn't work on those any more...
Yep, crash to desktop or out of memory.
I just played about 20 turns as a test (huge map 9 opponents), saved a couple of times and it seems ok for me.
At this point, people might have to have there specs checked when playing CoS... it may require a computer to have 64-bit Windows or large memory address aware to prevent crashing on huge maps.... Stardock did say they were at the memory limit when they made the game, and CoS adds quite a few new models and that only can push it closer to that limit.
Yeah true. If it helps the troubleshooting process, I don't seem to be getting crashing.. i'm on Win 7 64 bit with 6GB RAM. Radeon HD5800 Gfx card. Seems to be ok even with huge maps.
I am also not crashing with 8gb 64bit windows 7.
Looks awesome but I have all of the DLC. I will wait for the updated version. Good job!
Is the AI improved in this mod or is it compatible with patchwork mod?

Hi all,
I noticed that this mod in the readme says that there are multiple optional folders if you only want to use part of the mod. If I remove the ChildrenOfStorm_Factions folder but leave the ChildrenOfStorm_Champion folder what would happen? Would the champions from CoS be messed up since the factions are missing or would the shared folder take care of that? Im not sure really how to test it myself except playing a game and hoping a random champion appears as one of the CoS races. Thanks.

The shared folders will take care of it, you can use _champions without _factions.

Ex: is Heroic Pursuit Mod - V0.91 compatible, Champion Bonanza 1.1, deomons and wizard 0.5...
1. No, the dlc item fix mod fixes problems that do not currently exist with Children of Storm.
2. No idea what mods are compatible, usually if they are they might say something in the post though.
Hey! I am new to this mod, been only playing it for 5 hours. But so far I like it !I do have opne questions so far. I came across something that seems strage to me. This mod replaces the old factions with the new ones, why do I still get companions of old factions to choose from when I reach a new fame lvl?
Because the mod doesn't remove old champions. There aren't enough new ones to do that.
I was thinking about using the CoreUnits.xml and CoreAbilities.xml from the Patchwork mod. What would happen if I put them in a folder below the CoreUnits.xml from the CoS mod? Would that totally mess it up?
Please make this compatible with patchwork mod!
