I don't get a lot of time to play, although i have been playing all the Betas since WOM. Here are my thoughts on the new build.
Overall i like it. The AI is improving and the diplomacy changes are nice.
My big problem with this build is with how easy it is to win using the spell victory. Since the resources in the tower building has been nerfed it is far to easy to win this way. Whilst it is good that the computer now tries to win using spell victory i have found that each game seems to end the same way - all the AI opponents are going for spell victory and so i have to as well if i want to win. Added to this is the fact that on large maps you may not even know where some of the opponants are and so you have to charge around the board trying to blow up their towers. I don't have a problem with the AI going for this method but i think it does need to be much harder to achieve as some one else meantion why have the Volcanio spell cost 2000 mana and the spell of making only 250. I fell the towers should cost more resources and the spell itself should cost more mana, it maybe worth having it scale to the map size to some degree.
finally, i like Kongjei units
Thanks!Hm is my name that hard to spell... Guess that's what I get for picking a "Danish" name
My biggest problem with 1.291 is persistent crashing.
Also, it have been said before that the Spell of Making have always been too early in the tech tree, and too easy to achieve, it wasn't fixed (I think) because the AI couldn't go for the tactic, so it was hard to tell, especially for the developers
Sincerely~ Kongdej
I second (or third) that. I now play with Spell of Making turned off exactly because all games ends the same way. It is now the easiest way to win the game and if you don't go for it AI will beat you to it, leaving all game fells ends prematurely. Maybe moving it further down the tech tree as suggested above?
The spell should be more demanding at least tech-wise, but the AI should not refrain from trying to complete it
Oh sorry Kongdej, i even checked the spelling of your name before i wrote it and still i got it wrong, Dyslexia's a pain sometimes
