=================================The events in this mod occur 10 years after the story of Freelancer. Not all of the Nomads were pulled through the Hyper Gate by Edison's work, in fact those events led to another group being awakened and consequently getting another shot at taking out the colonies. However this group is larger and more experienced than the previous ones awoken by Rheinland, and they're not happy about being separated from their brethren. About 5 Years ago: all the trade lane and jump-gate technology 'inexplicably' failed, however thanks to some breakthroughs by Ageria Technologies, Cruise drive speed has been increased to fill the gap left by the failure of the trade-lanes. They also developed a system to allow a cruise drive to be 'super charged' in close proximity to a star, allowing for long distance jumps between systems. While not as fast as jump-gates it helped to keep the colonies in contact. 4 Years ago: the relative peace shared between the colonies since the nomad infestation started to breakdown. The Kusari Empire annexed GMG and raised the export taxes to Bretonian space, raising the cost of vital H-fuel. Bretonia responded in kind cutting back on the raw resources they were exporting to assist in Kusari rebuilding. Once Liberty de-regulated Ageira Technologies' new cruise drive upgrades and shared the designs throughout the colonies Rheinland was no longer held back, and started flexing their muscle again. Focusing on moving their newly rebuilt fleet to gain a foothold in contested space. 3 Years ago: the first Corsair capital ships were seen. A large Bretonian military convoy carrying supplies and materials were ambushed by a Corsair fleet led by a cruiser of unknown design. The cruiser destroyed the escort gunboats with ease and raided the transport ships. Corsair raids become more frequent and daring requiring the houses to devote more resources into their military and police. 2 Years ago: Secretive 'Nomad Cults' have been on the rise, these Fanatics believe that the Nomads were the messengers of 'God' and that Edison is the Devil Incarnate who tried to stop mankind hearing their message. While they were thought to be a few harmless kooks at first, they have recently become quite aggressive and militant; and their insanity is quickly spreading. Current day: relations between factions has deteriorated even more. With increased military focus due to piracy and border disputes and the political situation quickly turning sour, all-out war could break out at any moment.=================================

Slow work last week or so, been pretty busy with other stuff...
But here is an update that should not dissapoint! The Liberty 'Dreadnaught' Class Battleship is implemented in game >=D
Haven't done the Upgraded versions yet though. Just the base model.
While smaller than standard battleships, the Dreadnaught class is formidible non the less.It uses an advanced armor alloy and has a compact but highly reinforced frame. The shield generators are standard, though the Class 7 Thorium Reactor is highly efficient, more so than the other houses. The main drive is tied in directly to the reactor giving the Dreadnaught excellent forwards thrust though it still doesnt match Kusari ships in top speed.The Dreadnaught is armed with 2 forwards arc laser turrets, 2 dual barrel laser turrets each left and right, and 7 heavy broadside rail-cannons each left and right.This primary armament can be augmented with 2 experimental heavy plasma cannons on the nose wings, and a 4 tube torpedo launcher on nose.
In addition, the Dreadnaught has a large docking/cargo bay and is able to resupply nearby ships. (ability)Liberty Naval Officers often make Dreadnaughts their base of operations, and if done so they can maintain control of a Liberty owned world from orbit even under heavy fire.
Dreadnaughts are also adept at blockading enemy planets, preventing them from building any orbital structures and stopping any supplies leaving the local area. (ability)

Regarding capital ships - couldn't you make the Freelancer caps all titans and thus separate them from your "elite" versions?
I also recommend you set up a ModDB page. Great way to centralize information in a comprehensive way.
I did consider it, however as far as I know titans pull their name from the same pool as capitals, and I'd rather have a Dreadnaught named "LN Missouri" than "Lt. West".
other factors that made up my mind was I prefer the capitals to have abilities either by default or purchased with upgrades, as they are large ships crewed by many and leveling up feels wrong to me. Ace pilots leveling up to gain new abilities I feel fits. They either learn new tricks as they gain combat experience or add modifications to their ships.
speaking of which, Ace pilot abilities will be set up a little different from sins; all 4 abilities will have 4 levels, with the final level bringing the greatest effect. No more 'ultimate' abilities, level 4 is the new ultimate. This gives a larger amount of customisation as you will have to choose if you want all the abilities on a lower level, or if you want one or two really powerful ones.
As for a moddb page, I'll probably set one up when I've made a bit more progress, at the moment in still busy converting models.

Bretonian 'Sherman' Class Gunboat:
The Sherman Gunboat is armed with 3 Heavy Particle Cannons, and 3 Heavy Flechette Guns.

Soo.....any news? Sorry but this is the most exiting sins project I’ve seen in a long time, so I’m anxious to see how things are going
I've got a few more models partly done, but mostly work has slowed a little on this as I am working with the 7DS team again on the Rebellion version. Currently getting the Empire converted and also have some icons and stuff to make.
also, the TCA may be getting a Liberty Dreadnaught added to their capital lineup...
SotSS will continue, just doing my bit for 7DS as working with the team was the start of my sins nodding and also lead me to having the confidence and experience to start this project.
I should post some new pics here in a week or so.
I have good news for you, the StarBasesCanHyperspace research modifier is still valid, so your star bases as capital ships plan will work.
Yeah, as long as they fix the issue that prevents a starbase jumping to a grav well that already has one. It should allow it as long as the limit is not reached but somewhere along the line they blocked it regardless of the starbase limit in the planet entity...
But it's still good news non the less!
Just a quick update...
Liberty Strike Rhino:
The Strike Rhino is a modified Rhino Freighter primarily designed for taking out static defence and providing fire support against larger craft. It is highly vunerable to fighter craft and cannot target the faster moving vessels with it's rail-cannons.
Liberty Bastion Class Orbital Weapons Platform:
The Bastion is based of an older civilian design. Armed with four dual-barrel Plasma turrets and equipped with state-of-the-art armor and shielding

Excellent, I did wonder when you would pick this up again. I always did like the weapons platforms design, it'll be good to build them everywhere, and watch them blast everything to atoms.
Yeah, had no intention of letting the mod die. I just had some issues. Laptop died (but i managed to rescue the data off the hdd) and then my wife and I moved to a new place so it's taken some time to sort things out and do some more work on it.I'm hoping to get a Liberty Fleet alpha out in about a month give or take, so most of the focus will be on Liberty assets for the moment =D

Some good news, Got permission from some of the Discovery modelers to use their ships.
Bounty Hunters now have capital ships and I also have several other models to flesh out the four houses
Eeeeexcellent! This is awesome news indeed. BHG Destroyers invoke large amounts of fear in me, I was once hunted by a small squadron of them. It was horrifying.

Getting the hang of particles, I'm particularly pleased with the Liberty Exhaust fx =D
Since the hardcode limitation on starbases has ruined my plans for starbase-based capital ships, I've decided on a compromise (which I will happily reverse if the hardcode is lifted)
Instead of all capitals being starbases now only special 'Flagship' Capital ships will use this code.
This makes the limitation more bearable while still allowing the awesome upgradable capital ship system I was working on.It's not ideal, but it's a working compromise that I can deal with for now.
Still would have been cool to have conditional upgrades for cruisers and gunboats though.
