Over the past year we`ve seen the retirement of the DR`s from Bioware and now J Wilson leaving D3. This is troubling. The Dr`s were forced out after the massive wave of hate towards Mass Effect 3 and the Old Republic. The Dr`s were behind some of the greatest rpg`s we`ve ever seen. Baldur`s Gate, Knights of the old republic, Mass Effect. Tossed away, Driven away by hate on the anounmous internet.
J. Wilson, Senoir Designer on Company of Heroes, Probably the best RTS game ever made. Was driven away from D3 by internet hate. The level of hate and personnel insults has reached a level I`ve never seen. I hope I never see it again. When did buying a game entitle people to rake the creator`s over the coals whenever and how ever they want. This is disgusting at this point.
What happened to people being thankful for things, Appreciating the hard work of other`s. It might not be exactly what you wanted, You can`t appreciate the hard work in it?
To a point deserved, but way over blown. I was one to be pretty disappointed with DA2, but if I looked at it objectively, it certainly wasn't a bad game by any means. It simply didn't' live up to it's predecessor and made changes I didn't care for. If it had been a different franchise by a different developer, than I probably wouldn't have had any negative feeling and simply thought the game was "pretty good". I loved ME3, but I can't say whether or not the hate for the ending was valid, as I only played ME3 long after it came out and the ending was expanded and DLC was added. But it certainly was overblown. Anyone who says that ME3 was a bad game, doesn't have a valid opinion to me.
EA also overpaid for Bioware, so they had to make that back (whether or not they have is not clear to me.) So I don't expect any more five year projects like DA:O...and since Bioware is moving to a much better engine for everything they shouldn't need anywhere near that.
This must be the topic with the most depth and thought I've ever seen on the PC Gaming section
All I know about the Mass Effect III comlaints (except the ending) is that someone high in the company hired his wife who did a shitty job as a writer and was rightfully scolded for it.
Who's the "DR"s ? The failcouple I mentioned above?
I wonder if it's true that the internethate have become worse. People have complained on forums, e-mail and PM since they were first able to.
I think people have are too easily offended. Atleast here in Sweden it's a trend to be "offended" by anything really. Exceptions for people who do what Brad says and threatens familymembers like he describes. I don't understand why people do that. Must either be reallife trolls or people with malfunctions.
About Jay Wilsons comment on Facebook. I say it's perfectly alright and nothing for anyone else to care about. It was posted on a collegues Facebook wall.
I think he meant the Doctors, the guys who ran Bioware, until recently.
