I've been playing some Rebellion with a friend of mine, but everytime we attempt to load a saved game, the other one can't join it because it claims that the "Galaxy Scenario differs from the hosts'". This doesn't make any sense to me, as it's the same galaxy scenario as when we played on it the first time?
Any help?
I get this error as well, but it only seems to happen when a mod is used.
It could be talking about a file, "GalaxyScenarioDef". You both may want to try deleting that file in the "GameInfo" folder of the installation directly, then in your steam library, right click on Rebellion, properties, local files, then "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" to redownload the file.
Reloading file didn't help, any other ideas?
You reloading an autosave or a manual save? If it's an autosave, could be differences in autosave tick frequencies...
lol ok, i send him my savegame he copied it to his savegame directory, started game, worked...
Yeah, I've got this before when loading MP games... Did your friend, by any chance, disconnect from the game before you'd saved it? Because I think that's what causes this issue... One player not having a copy of the save file. To fix it, either do what you did and send him the save file, or load a previous autosave, which everyone should have a copy of.
This is kind of a necro revive, but I'm having the same issue as OP however it only ever happens when we try to play Maelstrom mod R5.
We have no problems hosting saved games with the original game nor with other mods, but when we play Maelstrom mod we get this error every time we try to host a saved game. We always save before we disconnect so that isn't what is causing this for us. We've also loaded autosaves and we get the same error.
Our checksums are the same, and we can host a new game no problem.
I can send him the save file for a temporary fix and see if that works, but I'd rather fix this problem from happening again.
