Hello everyone,
I have just started my 2nd Let's Play series of Fallen enchantress.
This time I picked a large map on expert difficulty with 5 AI factions, also on expert. I made sure that the custom faction that I used in my previous Let's Play is one of my opponents so that should make things interesting
Since I selected a large map I decided to try and play with the pace set as fast so that the game won't last forever. This had a side effect in my favor that I didn't anticipate: I picked the wealthy trait on the character creation so that I could boost my first city at the start by rushing production and being on fast pace, everything costs less to produce so it costs less to rush so you get a lot more from the Wealthy trait than on normal pacing.

Cool, and good news. There are too few LP's out there with difficulty over challenging. Expert is a nice choice, this will be exciting. I will start following this as soon I have the time, that should be this weekend.
NB! The only thing I don't like is the fast setting. Hopefully normal speed and same setting otherwise in your next LP.

Btw guys, I am trying a new upload schedule: instead of posting 3 videos twice a week, I'll be posting one video everyday from now on.
I'd really love to hear your ovearll thoughts on what you think would make the AI play better.
It's my first time playing on this difficulty level and I think for this playthrough it is too early to make any comments on it.
But from my experience playing on challenging difficulty on my previous playthrough, I think one of the things that could be improved is commitment to an attack. In my last video playthrough, Pariden declared war on me while there was the Kraxis empire between them and me and in the end they never even sent an army my way. In other games, I felt like the AI had a tendency to scatter their forces. When the AI declares war, it should be ready to wage war, identify objectives and go after them, one at a time and instead of sending one small army after another, commit some strong forces to the attack until the objective is attained. So far I am not sure I have seen an AI attack me with more than one army (other than having a full army followed by a lone champion which is really not good).
I'll try and keep an eye on the AI during my current playthrough
