This will be my version from the Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption Alliance mods for the game Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion. The mod will add most of the space units from my other mods and probably more from other era.
This mod will be release to the public by stages, the first stage will add the Empire and Rebel Alliance. Next stages will add the rest.

Hi, I was trying add a new model to the game following the iron clad documentation about it and when I was picking the texture_proyection1 for the tangent, I received this message from the program.
I´m not very familiarized with the program because I have edited most of models from my mod with 3Dmax 8. At this case, I exported at 3dmax to obj a model with its own uv and I wanted add all the rest of the stuff at softimage.
when you scale, you must hit FREEZE ALL TRANSFORMS on the mesh only. See pic I added above. All the values in the xyz transforms should be at 0 after that. Then freeze scaling ONLY on the mesh points, Freeze all Transforms on mesh points puts them all at 0,0,0
then freeze the model at the bottom right 'FREEZE M' with the mesh selected
When I apply the freeze, it appears that the map linked to the tangent change of size as if I had lost previous changes. It is strange.
you would have to upload the scene and textures to the skydrive for me to understand what you are talking about. I have scaled many models with this process with no issues.
Today I go to kill myself, I do not know because it happens but I can not upload nothing to the skydrive section.
But I could re-scale at least one model thanks to your help. The unique problem is when I freeze the Texture_Support return to the 1.0 scale.
make sure you are logged in, look top right
then go to XSI Project --> Models
Create a folder
EDIT: with Chrome I can drag file onto the window but IE I need to use the upload button

Do you have a .obj or something of the biggest ship that will be in the dock so I can scale it?
Also, I would get rid of all blue lines (double edges) by welding the points. Better for optimizing and tangents.
Because I have used the same scale for all the models, I was re-scaling them to 0.2. But I start to believe that at my computer it does not go to run because I reduce a few models and when I use them, the game gives me run time errors, always it happens when I change the zoom over units, or I have made some bad or my computer can not accept this scale. Perhaps I must use a bigger scale. At the end, if I use a bigger scale, I will change all the models with the resize tool because I do not see nothing telling me that it does not run. I have seen the same errors with both systems.
Are you using a recent version of Softimage to rig your models? Using a version that's newer than Softimage 7.5, the free version, will cause issues with Sins for some reason.
I use 2010 with no issues. Even the scripts I write for 7.5 work in 2010.
I did read of a convert XSI issue with 2011 or 2012, cant remember.
To expand on this, even Stardock and Ironclad feel the same way about these errors; if you play vanilla Sins and switch your faction to the Pirate's, you will find that Sins throws error messages when you go to the Pirate's research pages.
Interesting. I couldn't get 2012's xsi files to convert properly for whatever reason.
I use softimage 2010. With the reduced models I receive a visual basic run time error. I go to upgrade my graphic drivers and test again but it is a few sad.
2012 is confirmed to not work. At least not with the exact same methods that work for 2010 for me. There is definitely something different between 2010->2012 that convertxsi.exe does not like, and I would guess it's something related to materials.
Well, the problem here for me can be other thing because with the resize tool and scaling the models at softimage, I received run time errors. Now I go to try re-making the models from the begining with this new scale, they are over 81 new models but I do not see any way and I could convert them the first time at 1 month. Probably even now I make them better. Of course I go to try with a few reduced first.
Upload a scene and a mesh that you have scaled and converted that give you errors. I will test and see if I can find the problem.
It can be difficult because the errors are playing, I´m not sure about what model is the problem.
I have made again 14 models which they were involved at the battles from the crash and I have been playing for many time without problems, I go to send you a link myfist0 with the old scenes and you will be able check them if you want. I´m uploading them now to my personal skydrive.

Sorry but it is a lot more secure compress a file than upload it without compress where it can be hacked. Other point, I do not go to upload dds files without compress, it takes a lot more of time.......and they can be corrupted. These are the reasons because I always pack everything.
Never ever had a corrupt file on the skydrive. Used many many times.
1st thing I can see is your are probably not freezing the model as I can see the texture support in the view which disapears after freezing.
Normally, merging 2 meshes in XSI is not a requirement but I have no idea what this would do in the scale tool.
Some parts of the tangent properties were missing
Couple mesh point errors but no problem in-game at .2 scale

Why the texture_support dissapears after freezing? this is the reason because I do not freeze too much.
About two meshes in a same model, I thought at it as a possible problem. But......I did not see difference between use softimage for reduce the scale and the resize tool, at the end both must make some similar because if you import the mesh to other format, you discover the model at the original size. This is something that it can not happen if I reduce the models at 3dmax and I make again, of course I make again the model only with new mesh, the hardpoints are the same and I discovered that if I scaled only the rootpoint, I did not need scale all the hardpoints and I could freeze without problems the model. Yep I can be very strange making these things but I could not make them by other way.
About other questions, I asked it before but nobody answer me. Is any way for change the hull and shield settings from the starbases?
Yes. but it is not done in the starbase entity file. Starbase stats like that change with the amount of upgrades it has, so that information is stored in a "Starbase Upgrade" entity file, with the first one being the default value.
Thanks to all by the answers. Now that I discovered what was probably the problem and I have not seen more crashes. I have continue adding new units. This is the Secutor Star Destroyer, a design from Fractalsponge. This is one of the models which I´m not sure if I can share with you, I must ask first to the creator.
It will be part from a fleet with the Assertor, Bellator, Secutor, Vigil corvette and Custom corvette.
Now remembering, I have not seen any crash with models reduced which they had two mesh but the second was small pieces as a thruster. I have seen by the moment the problem only with the SSD Executor class, it has three or more big mesh.
Other small problem was the last scale, I used 0.19 because at 3dmax I do not know how scale a model as at softimage and I have all the remade models with this scale and I have resized again the rest of the models. At the end, the planets are not small.
Ah another simple question, at softimage, when you want one hardpoint equal to another, what do you use, clone or duplicate?
