I had a chance to play the second game first, and it seemed to me like a pretty, but shallow shooter with a horror aspect that did not really work.
When I saw the first game in PS3 bargain bin, I bought it out of curiosity. I was surprised how different this game plays and looks. It's much slower, more atmospheric, the constant shooting that kills the suspense in modern games is not there.
But I was totally shocked by a scene when my char came to celebrate birthday with her girlfriend Jenny in a flat they just moved in, and she switched on TV and started some old, black and white movie about some children whose father is a lawyer, living nearby some house inhabited by an alleged killer. Then Jenny fell asleep on my char's shoulder and the movie bacame unskippable, and the movie have been running for more than 30 minutes now, and all I can do is look around the room.
Wow, what a strange scene for such a game, I was totally amazed. It has that slow, creepy Silent Hill quality in it. I don't know how the game will turn out, it's just the beginning, but it's so strange I had to write about it. Did anyone here happened to play it?
I heard about it ... sounds interesting.
I have found out what movie is featured in the game, it's "To kill a mocking bird", and it seems there is all 128 minutes of it in the game. Insane.
Shame its not on PC
Which one do you think is better?
Well, I have played 2 to the end, and a little bit of 1, but I think 1 is definitely more atmospheric and interesting, 2 is mostly a mindless action, though visually more appealing.
I played 1 for a while but lost any intention of finishing it, and sold it to Gamestop.
2 probably has better pacing but I can't be arsed to try it.
I asked, because i'm thinking about playing it, but didn't know which one should i decide.
