Very soon we plan to release the very first Map Pack for Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. In addition to a new hand crafted map for every map size along with new stamps to spice up random map generation, it also includes the full Anthys map. A gigantic map that contains the entire known world of Elemental (at least, as of ~150 AC).
Nice... I would like to try that map out ; )
That map looks awesome.
I.. wants the precious. Anthys..
Got to agree, love the map example.Even the large maps seem far too small to me as they generate now.
the old 8-bit rpg look-n-feel of the cloth map!
Edit: This pic makes a great desktop background by the way.
new stamps is also nice.
can you change the stamps mentioned here? https://forums.elementalgame.com/435333

these are all really bad.
Will we be able to use ships on this map?
The map looks like naval transport would be rather useful
(unless you fight your way through the northern land bridge or use Tactics of Elemental: WoM, i.e. passing the ocean by raising land (something I rather dislike, i have to say))
yay!
How many factions will the Anthys map be able to comfortably accommodate on the Huge setting? Oh, and will the Kingdoms and Empires generally start in their own respective halves of the map?
Oh god yes! I hope that each faction starting point is in their respective nation.
I see both halves connected by land? Couldn't it be a water channel as to keep both sides gaining power on each side until someone uses raise land?
Also, how many maps and stamps we would be talking about Brad? I am willing to consider this now that stamps and Anthys are confirmed.
I specially like the little comment of Anthys being the whole known world, for now... I do recall you writing that elemental had three continents, that Anthys split in half, another sunk, and the last one, a small one, became a bunch of islands or something. So I have been hoping we get to see them. (And if the known ones sunk, could others have risen from the waves? )
That is fantastic.
I might just consider buying this with the monster map size as my main game comp has 32GB ram 64 bit win7 ultimate 2 24"3d screens as one desktop ie 1920x2160 screen res, but you do not mention any 64 bit exe or alterations to start to use my game beast.
harpo
Most of the maps will have ships on them.
is the anthys map bigger than the current maximum size ingame? i think it'd have to be
Mind Blown!
Will the AI use them, and how will they work?
When you say this map is gigantic, how big are we talking?
Also, are larger sizes for randomly generated maps a thing that can happen?
I'm in love, love I tells yus - keep those 'packs' coming
The map pack begins interesting me beyond just giving another $5 to the team. But darn i still keep thinking about expansion packs. i don't know that i'll be wanting to do both DLC and Expansions. i just rather it all come down thru expansion packs. Trying to keep open minded about this, but i'd rather see DLC used here to bring in stuff that wouldn't otherwise make it in the game. Niche things, minor things, odd things, wild things, off-the wall and outside the canon sorta stuff. Things you wouldn't normally consider putting in a main release. hehe, like a DLC packs which add Stardock employees as in-game sovereigns of their own factions. Would also be more minded to buy DLC packs of pet projects from SD staff. Like maybe Karielf adds some elfish quests and events. Kael brings in some Seahorse Monsters. Brad adds a playable Bone Ogre faction. Somebody adds a Pink Pony named Lord Xia whatever. Pet projects from the staff might make for great DLC and be fun for the staff and players. Maybe unique DLC will garner SD some more positive press. Change the narrative again.
Yay!!!
Very exciting! I'll buy every DLC pertaining to this game. Ships? What?
yes, this is getting interesting.
Heh, I rather like the difference between the reactions in this thread (where you're actually showing stuff off) and the '2 Weeks' thread where you announced the map pack. Very, very different tones.
Well, you've got my five bucks.
