Quoting GoaFan77, reply 73Quoting Turchany, reply 72 would like to ask you, whether should I expect anything about this field in the near future? Mainly this is the reason that makes me wonder about what mods are there for this game. I guess it won't be that hard to put maybe 2 new planet types in it?I think if they were going to do that it would have been added in the expansion, where they could be properly advertised. That's probably too big of a feature to add in a patch.Another thing is that Sins has always had many good planet mods, so that took off a lot of the pressure for the devs to add them themselves. Pure planet mods include the likes of Sins Plus, Novus Universum, and Infinite Space. Also most major gameplay mods have such mods built in or they added their own, so if planets are a big deal for you, you really should start looking into them.
I know there are mods with planets, Sins+, Maelstrom etc, but they are not well balanced or have many strange things in them (Swamp, Savannah and other unlikely things to exist in this Universe..). I don't want to rewrite almost anything in them to make gameplay similar to the original version which I think is currently the best, (but I haven't been able to play 7 Deadly Sins so far unfortunately, maybe that would change my mind ). Maybe you're right and it would be too big for a patch, I don't know. And there are some mods I can't even download from here, Hungary, the file no longer exists or cannot find mirror or similar stuff that is really annoying.
I'd still highly recommend infinite space then. Axeldude's planets are well balanced with the original planets. No 1000 population worlds or anything. Likewise my Enhanced 4X Mod uses some of the Sins plus planets but has changed the stats to be in the same league as the original ones.
As for the swamp and savannah things, that maybe true, but Sci-fi has a tradition rich is such oddities. Almost all the planets in Sins plus seem to be based on the planets in classic games like Master of Orion. And Sins has all sorts of other realism issues too, like the ships clearly not being to scale with the planets unless the ships are absolutely huge. In fact one version of Infinite space makes all the ships and structures way smaller so that the planets actually look to be at a believable scale.

This is the mod I cannot get from anywhere (infinite space), I guess I will have to register to mod db, or something to get rid of the no mirror stuff or only downloading the first MB and getting a finished sign... I'm really interested in it, so I'll check it out soon if it gets possible for me. And for your mod, if I'll have some time tomorrow I will try to get it from somewhere. Thanks for mentioning these mods.

I don't really know classic games well, but to me they are strange, and a planet with water on surface and without ocean is odd (I really like space and exoplanets and other things in the real Universe, theories, expectations etc.). I know Sins have many strange things, a Titan almost as big as a smaller planet and a Protev far from the size it has in the intro But I think I got used to them.
It's unlikely that we'll be adding more planet types. Unfortunately, due to the way the Iron Engine works, it's not really feasible for us to add them as DLC either.

Sad news but I understand the reason now. Thanks for the reply.
Yeah, kinda a bummer.
Maybe in Soase 2?
How do you download the patch?
Steam does it all for you.
I don't have Steam !! Need a Manual Download...
You have to download steam to activate and update Rebellion.
Then you probably don't have Rebellion.
1. Pirating the software..... FREE
2. Not noticing it a Steam game.... STUPID
3. Not thinking about the possible difficulty to upgrade said software..... FOOLISH
4. Coming to the OFFICIAL forums owned by the DEVELOPER and complaining about it..... TO DUMB TO LIVE
You know..... they should really track your IP and send your laywer letter costing you 2000 €.... just for the fun of it.
Seriously..... how can somebody be so dumb and still pirate software?
Now.... may I recommend getting your ass to the store and solving all your trouble for 20 $...... thats 15 €..... you probably spent more money on your Christmas food and drinks than that.
Thank you for patch
anyone else have the bug were the vasari rebel titan uses nano remit then nano leach without due cause?
you scared the little boy away aresiv . he must be hurt silly.
Just out of curiosity...
Is there any news on the next patch? Is there any estimate for its arrival?
What factions will have their balance updated significantly (Yarlen has already said he is nerfing the VR hard)? Will there be new maps? Bug fixes? AI improvements? Will it break saves?
Just feels like it has been a while without much of an update, so just a teeny tiny bit of news would brighten my day.
It is my understanding that the next update is rather big, hence why it is taking so long...
There was actually a recent thread where Yarlen showed a screenshot of the new shadow system (shadow basically had a sharper, darker outline) on an Advent structure (frigate factory, IIRC)...
But, I can't seem to find that thread now...it's like it disappeared.....
Anyway, Sins patches are like Nuclear fusion...it's always just a week away...
I hope its a 64bit executable that they are talking about in the stardock 2012 customer report.
Nice, I just might redownload and start playing again.
There you go...
Problem is that it's by Frogboy, not Yarlen, and that's why I couldn't find it...
Unfortunately, details at the moment are very sparse....
I found an error in the reference data in GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef:
It references a "MagneticCloudFair" planet, which doesn't exist and there's no need for it. Easy fix to just remove "Fair" from the end.
planetType designName "RandomSpecialFair" designStringId "IDSGalaxyScenarioTypePlanetRandomSpecialFair" orbitBodyTypeCount 3 orbitBodyType "GasGiantFair" orbitBodyType "PlasmaStormFair" orbitBodyType "MagneticCloudFair"
