Still no review there. Kevin VanOrd reviewed World of Magic at 4.5 out of 10 ... I'm very curious to see what he says about Fallen Enchantress. His most recent review at Gamespot was posted October 9, an 8.5 out of 10 score for XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
That's an excellent group of gamest to be mentioned with
Ecspecially considering Fallen Enchantress'es Parent game.
No it isn't.. Dude No 1 is "Warfighter".. NO 1!

Now its at #5. Brad, what have you done!? Elemental is now crushing XCOM: Enemy Unknown!
That's not too hard.
what list you pulling this from?
I'm looking at their site, and FE isn't on any list shown...
edit: ah, found it. In the PC section.
Hey now, XCOM rocks!
This is really exciting to see. Word of mouth!
FE is an unintentional experiment of which is more powerful: marketing/advertising vs. word of mouth.
In the age of the internet, a well provoked community makes the most effective marketing team. Aventurine used a great model with the launch of Darkfall, rewarding members with royalties on each game they sold by granting every registered user a unique link to use when attempting to attract new players. The community marketing that evolves naturally as a result of quality service will always be innately more powerful than advertising (not to mention cheaper, so more resources can be directed towards quality products). This is especially true in the games industry, where players have just as much incentive as designers to increase the size of their community.
Edit: I should add that this does not negate the need for intelligent branding and marketing, as even quality products must be advertised in the right way and to the right people in order to sell at all.
I believe that FE will be a slow burn in sales, rather then a white hot, flash in the pan. I never expect to see it at #1, but i do hope to see it in the top ten for many months to come.
It appears to be number 13 now on steam.
X-Com is a fun game. I never played the original and so the new one does a great job for what it does. I agree that Fallen-Enchantress should be where it is at vs. content and polish (About tied with each other). Great job to both developers and especially Stardock!
Since there are no review scores on it save user reviews that list is for the top 10 sellers recently. Not the top 10 games of all time or anything close. Since there aren't many games of any decent quality to pick from this month that's not saying much being # 7 or #5. User scores even on Gamespot are still in the low 70's and that's just not very good so far. Metacritic even hit 69 for user score and only 1 socallled pro review was up. Only other game on that list worth mentioning was X-Coms new game and it ain't all that either, not near as good as the original.
Fallen to #8 today (Sunday).
And I disagree that low 70s or 7/10s isn't too good, its pretty darn good. 8s should be rare, 9s very rare and a 10/10 should be virtually impossible.
No, according to my steam it is at number 18 not 8.
7 out of 10 is not pretty darn good. 7 out of 10 is just okay in my opinion. 8 out of 10 is good, 9 out of 10 is great and 10 out of 10 is amazing.
Did you not read the OP? These are Gamespot's rankings.
7 out of 10 is good. 8 out of 10 would have to be superior, 9 out of 10 exceptional. 10 out of 10 should never get appointed unless a game were completely free, not the slightest typo and it makes you feel you should throw all your game CDs and cartridges out, delete them off your computer and only play that game ever again.
I read the OP but I am not too familiar with Gamespot's system of ranking.
I agree ^ with that 100%. 7 has always just been an average or below average game. It's for those interested in the genre and possibly a fanboi of the developer/publisher. 8+ games are usually the ones I will buy but much after extended research and reviews and comments by users. I have FE because it's free I highly doubt I would have bought it upon release after the way WOM turned out and was launched.
How do you get the top game list on steam?
Glad this game is getting some nice ratings.
Mike.
WoM sort of already showed this, the other way around.
Gamespot is worthless though, it's a well known fact of the internet that they half ass their reviews and take bribes and do favors for their sponsors.
Besides getting beat by Lucius is pretty terrible. Just sayin'
