Would be a good thing if the Beta Testers that worked so hard would give us a few pointers about undocumented things we can do in the game.
For example: I have just discovered, through a youtube vid, how to change the build queue order.
Have only scratched the surface so far but love the feel and look of the game - thanks to all who worked on it
crtl+N restarts the map with the selected settings. Good for getting a better start position if you have a poor start.
Know thine enemy!
Don't attack that Earth Elemental army with a bunch of spearmen and/or swordsmen. Use your blunt attack specialists for these situations. Also, save those blunt attack weapons for your melee champions for the same reasons.
Same goes for non-physical attacks and defenses. Know what counters what; don't always sell your gear just because it has a lower total attack value on it, that little extra cold attack or spell resist or whatever might be just what the doctor ordered later down the line.
A single fortress city with three essence is a very, very powerful thing, if used wisely. Use production boosts to build quickly, then use auras to enhance your troops.
To remove spells, you have to go to your Govern UI, and there is a tab for enchantments. You can dispell them there.

You can also go into the city screen itself and hit the little X on each enchantment to cancel them. (towards top left corner of screen)
Sweet! When did they add this? Or am I blind?
Think it was the last beta cycle, so maybe the last 3 or 4 builds it has been there, IIRC.
It's been there since .914 at least (when I joined) I spent over 30 minutes trying find out how to remove enchantments that I casted on my cities and found it to be in a incovenient spot, but now that I know, it doesn't bother me.

Going to restate this, since it's periodically asked in new threads, and with good reason:
How do you get rid of custom races you've created? Go to your My Games/Fallen Enchantress/Race subdirectory. All the races you've created are in there. Delete what you wish, though I suggest changing the suffix on a race to OLD, instead, just in case you make a mistake.
Getting rid of custom sovereigns is much easier. Just right-click on the sovereign's icon on the left side of the screen after you select New from the main menu, and you'll be asked if you want to delete.
Delete all the custom sovereigns and the custom faction info dissapears
Since I meant races, above, I'll change it so as not to leave anybody confused.
My tips -
* Building near forest allows you to build logging camps. Extra production buildings. Most settling spots may have extra mats - like 3/3 or 3/4
*Building near river allows you to build docks/pier. Extra Food.
*Each Flavor of magic has its own city enchants / uses essence.
*Use cheap units to bolster your champions in the early game. Scouts/Militia.
*Lone scout unit on its own may get eaten.
If you play Pariden or a customized, Pariden-like leader, give strong consideration to the virtues of pioneer spam's more demure younger sister, arcane monolith spam. It's a circular path: the more monoliths you drop around shards, the more mana you'll have from shards to create more monoliths. Of course, you don't want to neglect prestigious locations, food boosters, iron, clay, crystal deposits, etc, but shards should you be a focus of yours. Not only do they bring in more mana, but just as importantly, they deny mana and access to territory to your opponents. Pariden if played this way is like the blue suit in Magic: The Gathering. It's all about denying things to others.
Before you go to war with someone trade all your techs for money. They won't be able able to exploit the techs before you crush them and extra cash is always good.
