Nexus:jupiter incident was a great game, I had a pledge for the last kickstarter for nexus2 but that didn't reach the goal. Pledged again for this.
For those that don't quite get what this is about, it's basically space war but focused on the tactical aspects of it. I don't know about nexus 2, but nexus 1 was basically a storyline of connected encounters/battles and there was no basebuilding but you did get to manage resources that shaped the fleet you controlled.
It is basically a bit like homeworld but without the capital ships as production centers.
For those that enjoyed the Crest of the Stars / Banner of the Stars 1 anime, this is also a must buy because I think it captures well the "feeling" in that show. They are completely unrelated, of course, speaking only about the "feel".
Nexus was good (to a point) as it was one of the first "Real Time Tactics" game of its kind. The graphics stood the test of time and still look good to this day, but lack of widescreen support kinda killed that. SP campaign was buggy, and the MP AI was inept. Another example of good graphics doesnt make for a good game. If you ignored those issues then Nexus was quite enjoyable. We had quite a bit of fun modding the game too.
If Nexus 2 sees the weakness's of nexus 1, and overcomes them i can see it being a very good game. I wish them luck on their endeavor.
