So, I was looking through the "English.str" file in Rebellion 1.04, and found entries such as:
StringInfo ID "IDS_CUSTOMGALAXY_DESCRIPTION_RANDOMLARGESINGLEFair" Value "Competitive version of Random - Large. Artifacts and planetary bonuses have been removed. Planetary militia and resource rocks have been normalized."
or,
StringInfo ID "IDS_CUSTOMGALAXY_DESCRIPTION_TYPHOONFair" Value "Competitive version of Typhoon. Artifacts and planetary bonuses have been removed and planetary militia and resource rock counts have been set to normalized values so that no player can have an unfair map advantage. Designed for high level play."
And other similar string identities. I just looked and found that these are not in the reference files for 1.031.
Since I can't seem to find those maps in game, I'm guessing it is something they intend to add soon, in a later patch. Just wondering if anybody has heard anything about it at all. I haven't really had internet that works well enough to play online until recently, but I have seen a few people in the forums complaining about map balance.
Interesting find.
I would not get up any hope just yet though.
Seeing as how they have made "Fair" planet types and random types in 1.04, I'd expect it. Those militias mentioned are already present in the galaxyscenariodef file.
High level play ladder maps would be awesome! Really hope they create a few.
