Real-time game streaming service, OnLive was a phenomenon when it debuted a couple years ago. I think my precise opinion of it was “It’s doomed”. More nuanced comments can be found here:

My opinion hasn’t changed on it even though it is a marvelous technology. I was hoping they’d got bought out or something to be incorporated as part of a larger solution.

We're going to need real expansions in broadband capability for this to take off as a technology.
The problem is the cable companies are squeezing massive profits out of the service and find it cheaper to make more money by squelching competition instead of improving service.
Neat technology. Not practical in the real world because of the infrastructure requirements and the fact that you just can't eliminate the latency it adds no matter what you do. Making this profitable would require charging more then most people will pay for it.
thought it's just some technical accounting/whatever thing to keep on doing business by forming a new company. can't remember where i read it though. (a few days back?)
obviously loads of people losing a bucket.. eg htc.

never thought much of it... in that i wasn't interested in renting.. which is essentially what the whole thing boils down to.
