It's going to be a good night!
Hmm,
Not sure if anyone else is getting this error, but after installing and double clicking on the exe I get this error message:
"The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more details.
I've already uninstalled and trying reinstalled and still get the same error... This is on a Win7 64x (home edition) Desktop.
Yes. I put the fix here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/429402
yep that did the trick, thanks!
Fallen Enchantress 0.95 Changelog (Beta 4)
Probably the Best Changelog I have ever read ! ... well, at least ... the Best NEWS in a changelog, that I have ever read. (As for the quality of the writing, and the typhos tupos trpoos ... er ... typos ... well, I do understand the universal requirement, to cut the Computer Techies some slack ... .)
Kidding aside, this 0.95 (Beta 4) Changelog is positively exciting !
Thanks, Mr. Paxton, et. al.
SUGGESTION: Add a feature to resource mines (clay quarries, wheat farms etc.) so you can choose which city that resource will be associated with. But add a maximum distance or a penalty dependent on distance. Pretty much how asteroids work in GalCiv2.
Granted I haven't played in a long time so sorry for the newbish question, but if you place a Champion in a city, does he/she at any point start to gain XP inside it?
I have a champ that I decided to take the path of governor trait and noticed the champ is not gaining XP while inside the City after a few turns, thus kind of defeats the whole purpose of being the "governor" in a way, unless I'm missing something with buildings later on that can make champs gain XP while being inside a city.
If for some reason you haven't thought of this, perhaps it could be a suggestion meaning if decide to give the Champs the "Path of Governor" trait, than he/she should get XP while being in a city, but than at same time nerf their attacks/defense so it won't be OP once that trait is aquired. (thus making it an easy way to level, since at the end day the Champ should be kind of useless in combat if you pursue that path)
Cities do not automatically grant xp per turn. You need to build specific buildings (unlocked in the tech tree) to get the xp per turn bonus. Those buildings also tend to be "1 per faction" buildings as well.
Thanks, yea I saw one already for the faction I'm doing, it's called "Adventurer's Guild" only problem the 1xp bonus has only a 25% chance to proc, so in the end it still makes stocking Champs in cities kind of worthless I think which is why it would be interesting to expand on the "path of governor" idea in a risk/reward style of gameplay. (you want your champs to watch over the city, than pay the price for them being not so powerful in combat..)
Anyhow, it's just an idea, but perhaps this kind of idea is way to radical for this version of the game considering how far FE is into it's Beta series and all, but maybe an idea for a DLC or Expansion than perhaps.
+2 XP from completing something in the queue would seem a fair deal. Split that between all heroes in the city as per usual. So a governor can still get a level in say 100 turns, but stacking heroes in a production city will not work well.
Excellent, Wisconsin had way too many electoral votes
You include rushing tactics in your idea? Just thinking....
Sincerely~ Kongdej
So, where can I find a list of the current spells and what they do?
In-game in the Hiergamenon. Click the question mark in the upper right corner.
It does not specify which spell belongs to which school and which tier. Nor does it give a list of the spells included in each tier.
Some bugs:
1. The game still crashes way too often and saves become corrupt way too often. Managed to play some today before I couldn't proceed anymore with corrupted saves and constant crashes. Happens less often then the days of war of magic but still unplayable. Although the actual gameplay is far more solid, the engine is still a mess.
2. Oh, and if you try to cast a 5th spell on a city with 5 essence and 4 active spells it will tell you you cannot cast more spells then the city has essence.
The statement below is out of the changelog above. It does not always work as I got a pair of regular leather boots for defeating a dragon on a dragons lair. I don't think that's what was meant by "rare item". One of the few bugs that I have encountered.
"Added the ability to have goodie huts/lairs/quests/etc give items of certain rarities. A low level goodie hut can give a common item. A dragons lair always gives a rare item. This means we can swtich low level goodie huts form having a set number of specific items to hand out (so you won't get 5 compasses) since they can now pick form any of the common items in the game. It also means that rare and dangerous goodie huts/quests/lairs/etc won't give junk items, you always get good stuff from them."
