Three quick questions for Frogboy and/or Derek:
1. Is the bug concerning wildlands that don't clear if you save and reload during their quests fixed? I did not see it in the bugs section
2. Are the outpost upgrades also available for Pariden arcane monoliths? I would actually prefer that they were not, but it's good to know (EDIT: Never Mind, I saw from the video that they are)
3. Is the shop sales price at least moddable through a parameter in the .xml files?

So with the changelog here does that mean B4 is ready for DL?
I am a bit afraid of the monsters less likely to attack stuff. I want the world to be dangerous, but it seems like the risk of building new cities and outposts has diminished based on the changelog. Only real gaming will tell I still hope for a gameplay setting for this, so that I can turn monster aggressiveness up to max.
This shouldn't go unnoticed. A REALLY welcome surprise. Some of us have fought long and hard against such nonsense. I guess there are still unlockable heroes, but this little line brings legitimate hope.

I watched this and your jumping made very little sense at all. Then I eventually realised that I wasn't watching the game in sequence, which really confused me. Is that youtube breaking for me or is that how the video was laid out?

1. What are Syndicate lairs? (it says in the new additions "added Syndicate lairs")
2. What is a Defender upgrade ability?

I believe that's how the video is laid out. Brad wants to show you different aspects of Beta 4, without having a two hour long video. Was it me, or did the video seems shorter than 40 something minutes?
Maybe because of our position in the solar system, and with our increased light intake, we are actually experiencing time at a faster average pace. Also, I think there is a metric that once was quite stable, but has increased significantly in recent years. Anyway, whatever the reason, we are going through a time of great and rapid change.
1. there's some sydnicate creeps, simillar to bandits. So they added lairs for them. something like pirate's cove?

I'd like to see AI that adapts to the player and counters stuff the player overuses personally.
Non-learning adversarial AI in a dynamic, partially observable environment is incredibly challenging just by itself and there is tons of research being done on the subject. When you add in knowledge engineering and learning your requirements for building a plan increase exponentially, probably to the point where it would become computationally bound.
If you're legitimately interested in the challenges go to scholar.google.com and search for terms like "adversarial planning", "adversarial ai", "ai dynamic environment", etc. Most of the material you'll find will require a fee or an institutional account but there is some free material out there, it just might take some poking around to find some. Warning... there will be a LOT of math. Things like discrete mathematics, set theory, logic, propositional calculus, etc depending on the approach the research is taking.

Quoting Derek Paxton, Added the ability to have goodie huts/lairs/quests/etc give items of certain rarities. A low level goodie hut can give a common item. A dragons lair always gives a rare item. This means we can swtich low level goodie huts form having a set number of specific items to hand out (so you won't get 5 compasses) since they can now pick form any of the common items in the game. It also means that rare and dangerous goodie huts/quests/lairs/etc won't give junk items, you always get good stuff from them.
