This game is amazing! Anyone here playing it?
Finale from Evo2012 VF5FS tournament:
I'm still on VF4...
Had played VF5.. It was awesome !
Do you play it on xbox or ps3?
Is online alive?
I play it on PSN: ArchdukeAlstein
Look up VFDC, it's the SRK for VF, and a nice community.
It's my favorite fighter, though I am looking forward to Persona as well (even with the region-lock mess potentially screwing Euros over hard, but I'm not a Euro) . I'm one of those rare Jeff users.
I like Aoi... it's fun to catch other's moves.
Aoi is my backup character for that reason.
I play Aoi and Shun Di, because I believe they're the two most fun characters to play. The different stances vs. the completely different style from other characters really makes them shine to me. However, then the really quick characters tend to do very well against me. The Bryants and the, hmm, I don't remember the father/daughter pairing's names, but they are very fast and can come get me.
Who's using a regualr controller who's using an arcarde stick?
Regular controller here
I always used the controller. I can't stand control sticks.
I use a stick. I recommend the Qanba/Eightarc if you're a competitive player, because they're dual modded by default- and different tournies use different consoles. If you're just sticking to online play at home- the Mad Catz TE sticks are best.
For pads- I recommend Hori Fighting Commander for PS3, and getting another console if you're on 360 because they don't have good pads period.
Who here hits tournies/competitive events? Traveling to one next month. Also looking forward to the Persona fighter next week, anyone looking into that? Unsure who I want to play, I've been watching some streams at work and most of the cast looks fun.
I play on PSN, my ID is Kamamura_CZ, same as here. I bought MadCatz TE fightstick for it, and it's superb and accurate. I have seen a lot of videos about modding cheaper sticks with Sanwa parts, but my craftiness is probably not up to par.
My main character is Jeffry, I always played him in previous VF games, but in this iteration, he unfortunately sucks a bit. If you are from Europe, PM me, and we can play, anyplace father, the lag is unbearable, unfortunately.
I am not a good player, but I don't mind losing and I really love the game.
Not from Europe- going to MLG for this in a couple of weeks, will likely get exposed hard since the VF pros are better than I am.
I've been running diligently through the dojo command training.
Capcom fighters have been my go-to. Now that I've signed up for PSN+ I don't have the miniscule patience required to insert my SSF4:AE disc, such a chore. All my PS3 gaming, and I hope gaming overall, will be digital. I look at the pile of game cases in my basement with disdain. I digress:
If anyone wants tell me why I suck, pm me for my PSN account name. Or i you feel like an ego boost, pm for my account name and you'll feel like you've on the lotto on the very day you found out that no matter how old you get your body wont age past 27.
Othello
There is a digital version of AE and KOFXIII (KOFXIII is kinda dead due to poor online, worse than AE, but is a very good game) I'm not a big fan of 2d fighters anymore though- KOF's my favorite, but unplayable online, AE is overrated IMO, and Arc games are terrible, except for Battle Fantasia.
I've preferred the non-disc format for gaming ever since GalCiv I, and playing KOF98 on emulation and GGPO since it never got a console release for years (an XBL version came out but was unplayable 3-4 years ago, and I had a PS3)
Back to VF- the game patches in the US today (already patched everywhere else) - making room timers skippable. Also , I get to boost the ego of top players this weekend, since I'm going to be an ham and egger over at MLG.
http://virtuafighter.com/I'd recommend this site for folks interested in the game. Really nice and friendly folks.
doing MLG today- though with GentlemanThief in town I'm going to get owned so hard on stream if I make it.
2nd Edit- finished one match out of the money, thanks to same GentlemanThief- who is the best US player. His Jean is just playing a different game that what the rest of us are playing. I was doing very well against the other players, just got unlucky in the brackets.
