I paid $40 for what I already had in Trinity plus a couple of new features? This is, at best, an expansion. To say I am unimpressed would be an understatement and I would demand a refund if possible. I have bought many Stardock titles in the past and have never encountered this.
If Stardock had not been honorable with Elemental, I would withdraw my business.
What I mean is you are embellishing rebellion.
"Rebellion $30 - Adds Titans (x6), Capital Ships (x3), Corvettes (x3), Vasari Nanite Swarms, New Research (which unlocks new strategies), New "actual" Victory Conditions, Shadows.
Thats 36 abilities on the new Titans and Capital Ships compared to 12 with Entrenchment. These of course include new particle effects and sounds.
It's well over 40+ abilities when you count Corvettes and station improvements."
For example, your review on diplomacy.
"Diplomacy $10 - Adds Envoys and Pacts (x3)"
Why not Adds envoys, each with 3 different abilities for a total of 9 abilities, multiple new upgrades in the new diplomacy menu, being able to hire pirates for specific missions, a completely reworked diplomacy tree.
I didn't even emellish it as much as I could either. Also You're also under the assumption I think I know more about game design, I never said that. But I am a consumer I expected much more out of rebellion than I received. Don't get that snippy attitude with me
While I generally agree that the new content in Rebellion isn't really worth the price tag, it's not like they lied about what was included. Looking now at the Impulse and Steam purchase pages, it lists pretty specifically what is new with Rebellion, and reading reviews, watching videos, or even just glancing at screenshots should have told you that for the most part the game is as it was before.
Not really anyone else's fault you chose to base your expectations on the price tag alone rather than any sort of information about the product.
Oh another "this thing sucks" troll.
*goes back to enjoying a well spent $30*
Be sure to blame Ryat. I know it's his fault again.
Actually, Stant is to blame as he thought up Rebellion first.
What you mean is that you fail Reading Comprehension 101. He did a more detailed comparison already. You even quoted it.
He's off on his count too, there are 11 abilities, only 9 unique ones, on the Starbases. The abilities on the new Titans and Capital Ships have no empty slot or duplicate ability. Entrenchment is actually less meat and potatoes than he implied. A downright unfair comparison in the other direction.
^
Yep, your right. Forgot TEC only had 3 abilities and good point on the duplicates.
God are you retarded
You must have failed reading comprehension I said he did comparisons but he embellished rebellion. Anything else you want to say smart ass?
And I was talking about the envoy abilities my count doesn't change the fact that I am right actually it only strengthens my argument thank you very much. Also next time you talk to me about how I "fail Reading Comprehension 101" make sure you can use proper grammar.
I think Windows is a ripoff myself.
I just noticed the lady dancing in your avatar sinperium.
DON'T GET ME STARTED ON WINDOWS!
LAME AND OVERPRICED!
YOU GOT THE SAME THING ON AN APPLE II GS 20 YEARS AGO!
NOTHING BUT A CHEAP KNOCK OFF!
She dances for you...yes, it's true.
...and I can hardly wait for Windows 8, Ryat.
Yes, you definitely fail... You can't even keep track of who's who inside a single post. When I say "he's something or other" while talking to you, "he" is obviously not you.
Please refrain from picking at grammar while completely lacking punctuation beyond periods and capitalization. For instance, there's this thing called a comma, you may have heard of it.
The definition of Embellish would be a good thing to know too. Your argument, wrong though it is, should have used the antonym of embellish in regards to Diplomacy. To embellish is to overstate, what you claim is understatement of the competition.
Stick to every other version, works out better that way.
I don't need to write a dissertation of information just so you might understand every point down to the nth degree.
The comparison is fair with Entrenchment and as pyschoak pointed out Rebellion would far outstrip Diplomacy which is why I didn't bother. The argument was framed as this expansion wasn't worth the cost compared to the previous expansions. I've presented a simplified but valid case as to why this is incorrect. You respond with uh-uh.
"Isn't worth" is entirely relative. It's like arguing which color is best.
Being able to understand what someone says is much more important than punctuation. Just saying. This conversation is over someone of your inferior intelligence doesn't need to speak to me. There is so much wrong with what you said I don't even want to continue.
Aren't you color blind
Ouch.
I actually responded with you embellished rebellion much more than the other two in your other point. Which is what I've been trying to tell you.
I've been called stupid by someone trying to cover for their complete inability to intelligently respond and avoid further looking like a douche!
It's all so meaningless now, my life is over...
No because you clearly are not understanding what I am saying. So your opinion means nothing to me he was embellishing rebellion putting in as many features as he could, while excluding many of them from Diplomacy and Entrenchment. Its a stupid argument and if you had "reading comprehension" you would of been able to see that.
Since I never bought diplomacy... it was totaly worth the $20 for me =D
Neon Pink, next question?
lol, your a bit dense sometimes. You are wrong in this regard, but unwilling to admit it. It's ok, there's therapy for that.
Oh yeah. So what do I know? All the colors look the same.
Wow, one pissed off customer and he's getting his money's worth just watch everyone fight here.
Yes, all colors are the same after you've killed everything and all's covered in blood.
If only they would make people pay to post on the forums--then we could watch people having to pay a troll tax for their ranting.
Gee, I wonder what I would do then?
