The Advent can research Homing Mines, but these mines mereley produce whats known as a Mine Layer, which activates an Ability/Buff to transform itself into mines and thus discontinues being part of a squadron (Developers will know what I mean).
I personally would like to see the Abilities removed from the Squad Entity Files and transferred to the Fighter/Bomber Entity Files, as I would like Homing Mines a great deal more if 1) They remained part of a squadron, therefore replicating new Homing Mines whenever one detonated & 2) There target range would be classed as the Gravity Well, therefore any ship entering the Gravity Well would find a load of suicidal mines headed there way.
I am not asking for the suicidal mines to be in game officially, I don't play Advent Multiplayer enough to know whether this would be Over Powered? But I would like the change regarding the abilities, to be moved from the Squad Entity File, to the Fighter/Bomber Files.
Is the above even possible and would the Devs ever consider implementing if it is?

you can mod the aeria drone host to spawn mines like the Ruiner. the current mines... tough to use. Fun however if you successfully micromanage your minelayers to pop mines in the middle of an enemy fleet formation. I do it with the ruiner and then retreat -enemy usually gets torn up on chase.
What I want to try and do is create actual homing mines which act like fighters/bombers and explode on impact, the problem is that the abilities needed to do this are selftarget and the problem with that is an ability can't be self target if its part of the squad entity as far as I am aware.
So if the above was changed, the Developers if they wished, could create actual homing mines which act like a squadron, but zoom directly to the enemy and detonate, to be rebuilt then zoom toward the enemy and detonate.
Most interesting idea. The damage would need to be lowered significantly but nonetheless the idea is intriguing.
This would be an enormous addition to the Aeria's assets.
I'd go with it simply on the grounds that it lets individual fighters have abilities.
Suicide mine squadrons would probably be overpowered, yet it sounds like a very fun idea! They should just cost a great deal of antimatter to be rebuilt and take longer to manufacture than bomber and fighter squadrons. I think it could actually be balanced for multiplayer.
Still I wasn't actually asking them to implement that, just to allow for better modding by transferring the Abillites from the Squad File entity to the Fighters/bombers entity files instead.
P.S. The Devs could make it a one time feature request and use this event to publice the event and show the world that they do care about their fans & product, which in turn might boost sales, or maybe offer it as a small dlc, I would be more than willing to pay for this feature as it allows more advanced modding, alot more advanced modding...
