forget hamsters, there might be thorium steam engines in 10 years. Just imagine, get in a fender-bender and have to pay the EPA to come out and check for radiation leaks.
People raved about thorium steam engines several years ago...funny how back then, thorium reactors were only "10 years away"...
They are just like cold fusion, which since the inception of the idea has always been "20 years away"...
That said, the thorium reactors actually look viable...still wouldn't be surprised though if thorium has a hard time in the PR department, some ignorant politician will see the word "reactor", throw a hissy fit, and get a bunch of people to have all their panties in a knot...
There's still LFTR reactors. You can't fit those in a car, but they're much safer than uranium reactors and its pretty hard to make nuclear bombs using them.
Nothing hurts more than a hot water drop from a leaky steam pipe falling on the center of your head when you are bald.

As a long time admirer of Stardock, thier games and their philosophies. I was saddened to see Rebellion on steam. I still bought it, cause I'm a sucker.

Well, they tend to have lots of aids, and eventually, even if they are all morons, someone usually figures it out before they collectively make utter fools out of themselves.

IMHO Steam is only good for patching my games, it sucks for everything else.
Now Origin I hate with a true passion, had one of the "Customer Service" moron trying to convice me to put malware on my computer so they could monitor my gaming, and just that one experence has poisoned me from ever buying an EA or assocaited product again, I used to be an avid C&C, RA, and NVN player (Collector Eds of every version since the original release of NVN, C&C, and RA) and was looking at buying the KotOR MMO when it was going to be release in Australia before I had to deal with them.
I've had steam for years, I think since it came ou in 2004 or something when ever HL2 came out, at first it sucked, now it's great, I keep it on as long as my computer is on, so I never "have to log on to use sins" as it's always on.
